Manchester City's perfect season stopped after five matches.
Now all of a sudden, the Citizens could reasonably be looking at a second straight defeat when they take on Tottenham in their annual visit to White Hart Lane.
ODDS ANALYSIS
Man City has opened up this week as an odds on favorite on the road, but we aren't sure that's going to be the case by the time Saturday morning rolls around. Tottenham hasn't been fantastic at 2-3-1 thus far this season, but White Hart Lane is a very tough place to go play no matter who the opposition is.
The number right now is set at -110, which makes it a 50/50 proposition as to whether Manchester City will get three points or not.
The total is set at a relatively average 2.5, though the vig on the over is a bit high at -130.
KEY INJURIES
Even though Manuel Pellegrini has one of the deepest teams in the Premier League, that doesn't mean that he is able to get away with all of these injuries which are suddenly starting to amass.
Gael Clichy, Fabian Delph, Samir Nasri, Vincent Kompany, Pablo Zabaleta and David Silva are all dealing with knocks at this point. Only Clichy and Zabaleta are certainly out of the fold at this point, but the fact that so many men aren't going to be in training early in this week is a big concern.
Tottenham's injury woe list is a lot shorter. Nabil Bentaleb is a big deal, but the fact that he is the only probable absentee from this lineup is good news for the Spurs.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"It was a shame to lose three points and we wanted to win after the defeat to Juventus. I don't think we played badly, but we have to move on." – Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne on the loss to West Ham at the Ethiad last weekend
RECENT FORM
It was a really disappointing week last week for Manchester City. Not only did the team lose its perfect Premier League mark after five wins, but it also lost at home against Juventus by a matching 2-1 score line at the Ethiad as well. The only good news for the Citizens is that they have scored a goal in every competitive match they have played this year.
Tottenham meanwhile, had quite a productive week. They beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at home on Sunday, and that came on the heels of beating both FK Qarabag to kick off the Europa League and a 1-0 win over Sunderland at the Stadium on Light.
ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION
All of a sudden, Tottenham might have its offensive complement to pair up with Harry Kane after so many failures in the past. Son Heung-min has only played two matches, but he was the goal scorer against Crystal Palace, and Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that perhaps he is going to be playing around with his formation to get the Korean upstart into the offensive fray more.
That could leave some question marks here for Man City to deal with, and it might not be able to do so with so many of its top players out of training.
Of course, that doesn't mean that Manchester City isn't the better of these two teams; surely that isn't the case. But we still think there's a great chance for the Spurs to get at least a point, if not all three in this one. Take the half ball on the Asian Handicap, and don't be stunned if this is another disappointing result for the Citizens.
