Odds Analysis

Home teams aren't often goal and a half underdogs on the betting odds at BookMaker.eu, but in this case, that's what we have with Burnley. The Clarets are +667 on the moneyline and +1.5 with -139 vig on the Asian Handicap.

But again, let's remember that Chelsea is 8-2-2 on the road this year, one of the best records we've seen at this juncture of the season on the road in a long time.

The total of a flat 2.5 is one of the lower of the weekend in the EPL.

Key Injuries

Part of the reason why the Blues continue to be at the top of the table is because they just flat out don't have any injuries to deal with. Antonio Conte has probably never had a season before in which his team has stayed this healthy, and he'll probably never have one again. Chelsea comes into this matchup with absolutely no one out of the fold of any note whatsoever.

Burnley is missing out on Steven Defour, Kevin Long and Dean Marney, all of which were lost in January fixtures. Jeff Hendrick is also out for the rest of the month due to suspension after picking up a bad red card against Watford last weekend.

Recent Form

Chelsea just flat out keeps rolling. The team knocked off Arsenal 3-1 at home last weekend to continue to extend its lead at the top of the table. Sure, there was a bit of a hiccup in the form of a draw against Liverpool on the road and the road loss at Tottenham, but if you take those two matches out, this team hasn't dropped a single point September 24. The last match against a suspect team that resulted in anything less than three points was a 2-2 draw at Swansea City, and that was back on September 11.

Burnley's two match winning streak was halted by Watford last weekend in a 2-1 loss, but that was one of the team's better away matches in recent memory. The match could have been won, and surely, the Clarets deserved better than the nothing that they got. The Clarets have won seven straight matches at home in all competitions dating all the way back to a 2-1 loss at home against Manchester City on November 26.

Free Soccer Betting Pick

It has to at least be a little tempting to play Burnley at +667 on the moneyline, knowing that this is a team that has won nine games at home already this year, two more than Manchester City and Liverpool and one more than Arsenal.

But we just aren't going against Chelsea at this point. Diego Costa and Eden Hazard are just playing too well at the moment, and Burnley doesn't have the horses to keep up. Sure, this is a far different Burnley team on the road than it is here at home, but that 3-0 loss at Stamford Bridge from back in August just isn't something we can get out of our head.

Barclays Premier League Odds: Chelsea 2, Burnley 0
