Soccer Odds - Leicester City vs. Everton Match Preview

2016-Leicester-Vs-Everton-Bet-Online

Normally speaking when you talk about games which flat out don't mean anything to anyone, bettors and sports fans steer clear, knowing that the results could be wildly unpredictable. On Saturday though, fans of all sports – soccer lovers or not – should tune in and watch Leicester City against Everton.

Why? The Foxes are champions. They were 5,000 to 1 at the start of the year to win the Premier League, making them perhaps the most unlikely champions of any sport ever on the face of the earth. This match is inconsequential. With two fixtures to go, Leicester City is clear of the field by seven points. But that won't make it any less fun to watch, as this should be a 90-minute celebration of greatness.

ODDS ANALYSIS

Once Leicester was named the champion of the league, the odds changed dramatically on this match. The Foxes were favored by a full goal when this line opened, but since they clinched the championship, they dropped to just a half-goal choice of the oddsmakers. Leicester is still the favorite at +100, but that margin isn't nearly convincing.

With two teams with virtually nothing left to play for this year, the total is understandably a little higher than usual at 2.5 and -145 vig on the over.

KEY INJURIES

Roberto Martinez might be on his way out at Goodison Park, but this year, it was all of the injuries which really cost him dearly. At this point, the Toffees are without Gareth Barry, Tyias Browning, Seamus Coleman, Gerard Deulofeu and Phil Jagielka, while Ramiro Funes Mori is serving a suspension from a nasty red card he picked up a couple weeks ago.

The champs have a clean bill of health, though Daniel Drinkwater will sit out this celebratory fixture after getting a red card against Manchester United over the weekend.

LIVE BETTING

Motivation is obviously going to be the big issue in this match for live bettors. Everton knows that it's going to be playing a key role in the relegation fight next week, and this is its last match against any team which is anywhere near respectable. The team has been all over the place of late, beating Bournemouth 2-1 after losing to Liverpool 4-0. The team has played high-scoring matches, low-scoring matches, no-scoring matches… Everton might be the hardest team in the EPL to figure out at the moment.

Leicester City might've drawn last week at Old Trafford, but nothing matters now. The team still hasn't been beaten since Valentine's Day, a stretch of 10 matches in a row.

QUICK PICK

You almost have to go with the underdog here. For as great as Leicester City was this year, you've had to allow for a dismal effort or two here in the last couple weeks. Sure, it's the last match at King Power Stadium, but no one is going to be bothered if this match is won by 10 goals or lost by 10. The championship trophy is still going to be on display, and the Foxes are going to rightfully be celebrating with it regardless of the outcome.

That's why Everton has the be the choice at over 2 to 1 on the moneyline. Would it be shocking if the Toffees laid a complete egg? Of course not. But when you've got so much inconsistency involved in one match, you've got to let the dogs out.
