ODDS ANALYSIS

The oddsmakers have an eye on all of those goals the Hammers have put in the back of the net away from home this year. That's why the total is set so high in this one at 2.5 with -117 vig on the over.

Still, Manchester United is favored by a healthy -210 margin, translating into a -1 line on the Asian Handicap.

KEY INJURIES

We could find out in the next few days that Diafra Sakho is out for a long period of time for West Ham. The striker has a thigh injury and surely will be out for this week, potentially a whole heck of a lot longer than that. Enner Valencia is also a long-term absentee for the Hammers.

United is still playing without Luke Shaw, Phil Jones and Ander Herrera. There's a concern about Wayne Rooney's health this weekend. He was pulled off against Leicester City in what was classified as a precautionary measure. There's not a lot known about his injury at this point, so it's something to keep in mind before betting this game.

QUOTE TO NOTE

"They get worked, they get opportunities to train with the first team regularly and it's the same old adage: if you do well enough, you'll get a chance and if you do well enough when you're in, you'll keep there." – Manchester United U-21 manager Warren Joyce on why the Red Devils continue to debut youngster after youngster in their first-team lineup

RECENT FORM

The good news for West Ham is that it has scored in three games in a row. That said, it hasn't won any of those matches, taking just a point against both Everton and West Brom. The Hammers have given up at least one goal in every match since September 14, and that puts a lot of stress on this offense, one which might be in a lot of trouble if Sakho is out for a while.

Manchester United drew last weekend against Leicester City in a match which would've put either team at the top of the table. This is a bit scary for Man U, knowing that it hasn't taken three points against a team in the top half of the EPL since besting Everton 3-0 on the road on October 17.

ANALYSIS AND ODDS PREDICTION

Louis van Gaal is still tinkering with this roster trying to figure out what his best 11 is, and clearly, he isn't all that happy with the results.

That said, West Ham isn't nearly the same team without Sakho, who has 33 shots, 11 of which have been on net this term. There's going to be a lot of pressure on Mauro Zarate, Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini to put the ball in the back of the net, but a lot of their success has come from the opportunities Sakho has created.

It wouldn't be shocking to see Anthony Martial play a huge role in this match up front for the Red Devils. He's one of the many youngsters who are playing a ton for van Gaal.

If Martial gets enough opportunities, he's going to put one in the back of the net, and that very well could be the boost United needs to put forth a comprehensive victory against what could be a reeling foe.

Manchester United 2, West Ham 0
