Soccer Odds - Tottenham vs. Crystal Palace Match Preview

2016-Tottenham-Hotspur-vs-Crystal-Palace-Odds

A busy weekend is ahead for Tottenham. The Spurs have to play in the Europa League against Fiorentina on Thursday night, but from there, they have a quick turnaround to get ready for an equally important duel with Crystal Palace in the last 16 of the FA Cup.

ODDS ANALYSIS

Crystal Palace is getting a full ball in this game on the Asian Handicap, and it's a +430 underdog to come on the road and get the full spoils at WHL. The Spurs are the -160 favorites, and understandably so considering the form which they're in. The only question which remains is whether Mauricio Pochettino will be putting a full side on display on Sunday just 72 hours after playing against Fiorentina and with so many big EPL fixtures left to be played this year.

The total in this match is set at a flat 2.5.

KEY INJURIES

The fact that Hugo Lloris isn't playing with a shoulder injury in the Europa Cup on Thursday is probably a good indication that he'll be around for Sunday's soiree with Crystal Palace. We couldn't see him playing in both matches, but we have to imagine that he's healthy enough to play in at least one.

Tottenham is without Clinton N'Jie and Jan Vertonghen for the full weekend, though.

CP should be getting back Yannick Bolasie soon from a knock, but we don't know whether that will be this weekend or not. Kwesi Appiah and James McArthur are both long-term absentees at this point, while the news on Dwight Gayle's hamstring is good, and he should be able to play this Sunday.

QUOTE TO NOTE

"If you have one or two bad eggs, it can bring others down, and we don't have that. Everyone is fighting for each other and we are in a lot of competitions, so people know they will play games to try to impress the manager. We've got to try to keep that belief high across all competitions." – Tottenham striker Harry Kane on the importance of winning as long as possible in all competitions

RECENT FORM

Emotions are running high right now at White Hart Lane. Tottenham has won seven matches in a row across all competitions, including winning in the last two rounds of the FA Cup against Leicester City and Colchester United. We don't expect to see quite the same team here against CP that we saw in a 3-1 win at Selhurst Park in January, but Pochettino probably won't take this incredibly lightly either.

Palace has been in bad form of late. A 2-1 loss at home against Watford was highly unexpected, and that stretches the winless streak out for the Eagles to three games. Relegation is still a possibility, one which CP supporters will want to avoid at any costs.

ANALYSIS AND ODDS PREDICTION

Funny things happen in the FA Cup, and we think some more funny business is about set to go on here at White Hart Lane. Tottenham has a good side, and it's a deep club as well, so we aren't worried about the quality on the pitch, but we definitely don't like the prospects of playing against a side with all to play for and no concerns in the world aside from this.

Crystal Palace isn't quite good enough with all of its injury woes to win this one outright, but we could see a late show pushing this matchup back to Selhurst Park next week, a result which could end up being devastating to an already busy Tottenham side.
