West Bromwich Albion continue to stay in the top half of the table in the Premier League in spite of the fact that many believed they were potentially destined for relegation this year. Can the Baggies pull out more points in a match that seems beyond them in Match Day 21 on the road against Tottenham?

This English Premier League duel will go down Saturday, January 14, 2016, at 7:30 a.m. ET at White Hart Lane. The match will be televised live on NBC Sports Network.

Odds Analysis

You wouldn't know that these two teams were separated by just five spots on the Premier League table based on the odds in this match. Tottenham, running as hot as any team in England at the moment, is set at -310 on the moneyline and is a firm 1.5-goal favorite on the Asian Handicap.

Of course, it's worth mentioning that White Hart Lane has been basically impenetrable this year, as foes have managed just a total of two points from 10 matches thus far in this stadium, including when mighty Chelsea came here and was turned away whilst on one of the best runs of play in the history of the EPL.

Key Injuries

Erik Lamela remains out for Tottenham as he has been for quite some time, but that's about it for injury concerns for Mauricio Pochettino.

WBA can't nearly say the same. Saido Berahino probably won't play in this match, though the news seems at least remotely good on both Chris Brunt and Jonny Evans. Both are questionable with knocks, but they seem trending towards playing in this match.

Recent Form

The holiday fixtures generally bring out the best or the worst in teams in the EPL, and in this case, boy, did we see a great edition of Tottenham Hotspur. Since losing to Manchester United on December 11, the Spurs have blown through matches against Hull, Burnley, Southampton, Watford, Chelsea and most recently, Aston Villa in the FA Cup. All but one of those matches was won by multiple goals, and as a result, the team has a real chance to contend once again for the EPL title.

West Brom will have to be satisfied with the way that it made it through the holiday push. Since the middle of December, the team was issued losses by Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal – no shame in that whatsoever. That said, the team also came out and beat Swansea City, Southampton and Hull City in league play. If there's a concern, it's in a 2-1 loss at home to Derby County in the third round of the FA Cup, not exactly the type of crash out you would have expected out of a team in such good form, particularly against lesser competition.

The big problem here for WBA is that this isn't exactly "lesser competition" that it's going against. Tottenham has itself an excellent team, and with the rate at which it's pouring goals into opposing nets right now, it's going to be hard for a team that is truly struggling right now to find the right combination of players at the front with Berahino out of the fold to score enough to keep up.

That said, this is a really big spread against one of the quietly better defensive teams in England. The Baggies were only beaten by a single goal by Chelsea and Arsenal away, and this feels like a similar result to what we might see on Saturday morning. We'll take the ball and a half with WBA but would fancy Tottenham to win this match by exactly one goal.

English Premier League Odds: Tottenham 1, West Brom 0
