The United States is officially back on track in World Cup Qualifying. The Stars and Stripes took three big points at home against Honduras on Friday night to get erase the memories of a horrid 0-0-2 start to the Hex, but if they don't parlay that 6-0 win into three more points at Panama, this duo of March games will largely be looked upon as a disappointment.
This World Cup Qualifying duel will go down Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at 10 p.m. ET at Estadio Rommel Fernandez. The match will be televised live on beIN Sports.

Odds Analysis
We should caution American supporters that there's probably a reason they're actually not odds-on favorites to win this match on the road even though there has to be a lot of optimism after beating up the Hondurans a couple nights ago. They're the favorites for sure at +112, and though a draw would be looked upon as a bit of a letdown, getting points on the road in the Hexagonal is a good thing when the top three teams qualify and the fourth place team gets the right to play in one of the two intercontinental playoffs.
This Panamanian side isn't a bad one, particularly here at Estadio Rommel Fernandez. A price of +225 is probably a lot more generous than it would have been had the USMNT not just come off of a devastatingly good performance in which it looked like one of the top teams in the world.
The total in this match is awfully low at barely 2.5, a number that is bordering on dropping to a flat 2 and could at any point before Tuesday night's kickoff.
Recent Form
It's really hard to complain about anything the United States did against Honduras. The Americans ran off to a lead just five minutes in when Sebastian Lletget picked up his first ever goal for his country, and the goals just kept coming from there in a match that reached its final score line of 6-0 in the 54th minute when Clint Dempsey finished off his hat trick. That said, these Americans are still on just three points and would be forced into the intercontinental playoff if the Hex ended today. Good thing for them that this is still only the beginning of the mission, and a win here would take them from last in the group to safely inside the Top 3 with six fixtures left to play.
Panama has four points in three matches, but its most recent effort against Trinidad & Tobago was a bit of a dud. The 1-0 loss wasn't the end of the world, but you look at the matches the Panamanians have played thus far in the Hex and realize that they're done with their easiest away matches and still have a couple incredibly away dates with the United States, Mexico and Costa Rica along with away duels with each of the supposed Top 3.

The Americans looked their part on Friday, and they did so with a very smart lineup. Christian Pulisic is where he belongs in the middle of the midfield with an eye on attacking, and obviously, getting Dempsey back was a huge lift to the roster. Bruce Arena got it right against Honduras, and flipping into the lineup Jermaine Jones on the right of the midfield in place of the now injured Lletget is a natural choice to make.
But we issue caution. This is a Panama side that has allowed just one goal in three matches here in the last round of qualifying and has a couple really good players at the back in Roman Torres, Adolfo Machado, captain Felipe Baloy and Jaime Penedo in net. We suspect the Panamanians will strike first in this fixture, only to ultimately see the Americans level before time. This though, won't be a walk in the park for the USMNT.
