BERLOCQ RALLIES TO STUN BERDYCH IN OEIRAS FINAL
Carlos Berlocq mounted a furious comeback to stun top seed Tomas Berdych 0-6, 7-5, 6-1 in the final of the Portugal Open on Sunday.
The 31 year old follows in the footsteps of countrymen and former Oeiras champions Juan Martin del Potro (2011-12), David Nalbandian (2002, '06), Gaston Gaudio (2005) and Juan Ignacio Chela (2004), becoming the fifth different Argentine champion in the past decade.
2013 Estoril Open Results - Stanislas Wawrinka beats David Ferrer to take the title
He was not the favorite entering the final, but Stanislas Wawrinka turned the tables around on Sunday at the 2013 ATP Portugal Open.
The Suiss, seeded at No.2 in Oeiras took out the Top seed and clay court expert David Ferrer in straight sets winning 6-1 6-4 in 65 minutes. The first set run away surprisingly fast as Wawrinka dominated the rallies with his forehand and Ferrer couldn't find a way to step into the court ant take control of the rallies.
In the second Stanislas needed only one break to become a Champion in Portugal. With this win Wawrinka avenged the loss in the final of the Copa Claro in February, when his Spaniard opponent beat him to take the title. Wawrinka follows in the footsteps of Roger Federer as a Suiss champion in Portugal.
For Stanislas the victory in Estoril is the 4th ATP title, the first since January 2011, when he took the Aircel Chennai Open title.
