2014 Credit Agricole Swiss Open Results - Swiss Open Results
Pablo Andujar captured his third ATP World Tour title and his first trophy in more than two years on Sunday, at the Crédit Agricole Suisse Open Gstaad.
Andujar, who is currently No. 71 in the Emirates ATP Rankings, defeated No. 105-ranked Juan Monaco 6-3, 7-5 in the final at the ATP World Tour clay-court tournament. Spaniards have won the Gstaad crown 13 times since 1990.
The 28-year-old Andujar, who improved to a 3-3 record in finals with his first title since retaining the Grand Prix Hassan II crown in April 2012, received €77,315 in prize money and earned 250 Emirates ATP Rankings points.
Although Wawrinka and Federer were absent, the Swiss players caught the attention.
2013 Credit Agricole Swiss Open Results - Youzhny tops Haase in Swiss Open final
Mikhail Youzhny defeated Robin Haase in straight sets Sunday and claimed the title at the Credit Agricole Swiss Open.
Youzhny didn't face a break point in beating Haase 6-3, 6-4 in just more than an hour. He lost 13 points over his 10 games serving.
Youzhny made the most of his own break chances, posting a break in each set on just three break-point opportunities.
He improved to 5-0 lifetime versus Haase, who is yet to take a set from Youzhny.
It was the ninth ATP title for Youzhny, whose history in championship matches goes back to a win in Germany in July 2002. He was the runner-up at last month's Gerry Weber Open, which had been his first finals appearance since he won in February 2012 in Croatia.
Youzhny's champion's check for winning the Swiss Open was about $98,000, which pushed his career winnings to more than $10.5 million. Haase is 2-1 in ATP finals. He took home nearly $52,000 Sunday, giving him a career total of about $2.3 million.
2012 Credit Agricole Suisse Open Winner - Thomaz Bellucci stuns Janko Tipsarevic to lift Credit Agricole Suisse Open title
Brazilian star, Thomaz Bellucci, shocked everyone after upsetting the top seed, Janko Tipsarevic, in a three-set thriller at the Credit Agricole Suisse Open 2012 on Sunday. He summed up a 6-7(6), 6-4, 6-2 victory against the Serbian number two to claim his first year-to-date title at this ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) World Tour 250 series event taking place in Gstaad, Switzerland.
Bellucci displayed top notch performance to win his second trophy at this hard court tournament and his third overall. He conquered Gstaad in 2009 and the following year captured his second career title at the VTR Open in Santiago (tumbled Juan Monaco in the final).
After stealing the show in two hours and 24 minutes, Bellucci not only avenged his loss at the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart earlier this circuit but also improved to a 2-1 record in the FedEx ATP Head 2 Head series against the Serb.
The Belgrade native thundered into the Swiss courts and drew the first blood in the second game to leap to a 2-0 lead. Apart from losing his serve in the very next game, Tipsarevic capitalised on another break chance in the fourth game and took a 4-1 lead. He lost his edge again in the seventh game but remained calm and dragged the set to a tie-breaker. The Serbian star was trailing 1-5 in it before hitting back and conquering the opener with a 7-6(6) success.
