Wells Fargo Championship Golf Odds - Bet on PGA Tour

Wells Fargo Championship PGA Odds

Upgraded to Signature Event status ahead of last year’s edition, the Wells Fargo Championship has attracted the game’s best players. However, the 2024 edition will be without two of the PGA Tour’s top stars with Scottie Scheffler and Ludvig Aberg out. That leaves a clear path for betting favorite Rory McIlroy to capture a fourth tournament title. McIlroy snapped out of a funk winning in New Orleans with teammate Shane Lowry a few weeks ago. Lowry is also scheduled to peg it up at Quail Hollow Golf Club though he’s further down the odds board. The tournament has never had a repeat winner giving Wyndham Clark a chance to make history. Clark established a WFC scoring record winning by four swings last year for his first PGA title. Be sure to visit BookMaker.eu for an updated list of betting odds when you’re ready to place a wager.

Odds Analysis

Wyndham Clark +1550

This place is special to Clark, who recorded his first Tour victory at Quail Hollow last year in record fashion. And that led to what has been a whirlwind 12 months. Since his 4-shot win thanks to a record 268 last year, Clark added two more victories, including a major championship at the U.S. Open. He also added a pair of runner-up finishes when he was thwarted by Scheffler, along with a pair of thirds.

Harris English +6000

I find a lot of value in English at his price which is why he’s one of my outright picks this week. He’s been solid this year getting inside the top 25 seven times in 11 starts and placed just outside the top 25 in two others. English had his best showing at the WFC last year scoring 66 in the middle two rounds to finish T3. He has a history of coming up big on longer courses and English is also a value pick in alternate markets.

Matthew Fitzpatrick +3850

The field will benefit with two favorites off the board and Fitzpatrick is one who can take full advantage of the opportunity. With increased distance off the tee Fitz certainly has the tools to contend on the longer Quail Hollow track. He’s also been steady this season cranking out five top 15s, including three in his last five starts with a best of solo fifth at THE PLAYERS. He always seems to play his best when distance is a factor.

Max Homa +2500

One of two players with multiple WFC titles, Homa has his two in the past four years, though his 2022 title was at a different venue. Still, it shows his versatility as a player and he’s been in fine form at Quail Hollow. He won by three swings in 2019 and bested the field by two shots at TPC Potomac in 2022. Homa was T8 in his title defense last year and was a perfect 4-0-0 in the 2022 Presidents Cup at Quail Hollow.

Collin Morikawa +2650

It’s always a good idea to back the hot player and Morikawa has been dialed in since emerging from a mid-season slump. A closing 74 led to some stress at the Masters, though he still finished with a share of third. He followed with a solo ninth at the RBC Heritage in his most recent individual stroke play event. Improved accuracy off the tee has led to more success and he could be dangerous on the beefy layout with his majestic drives.

Course: Quail Hollow Club – 7,558 yards, Par 71

Getting ready to host this year’s tournament and next year’s PGA Championship, Quail Hollow Golf Club underwent another renovation following the completion of the 2023 Wells Fargo. Just a few years before that the course had another makeover that reduced par to 71. Stretched out to over 7,550 yards, the track was difficult enough when it played at par 72. Course length requires distance off the tee in order to contend, so we can expect a lot of drivers. Players don’t have to be too concerned at the tee box with forgiving fairways and manageable rough. Making up most of the yardage are eight par 4s that measure longer than 450 yards. There are hazards out there with water in play on a number of holes and greens guarded by bunkers on nearly every approach. And it’s difficult making up ground over the final three holes with the stretch known as the “Green Mile” among the most difficult on Tour.
