The Texas Tech Red Raiders knocked off the defending champion and No. 1 overall seed to start the College World Series. If they can serve up an impressive encore, they will be in the driver’s seat to make it to the National Championship Series.
Texas Tech beat Florida to open up this double-elimination portion of the NCAA baseball tournament and now will turn its attention to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Arkansas had an impressive opener with a rout of Texas and will be favored to win this matchup.
The loser will still be alive after this one but whichever team wins will be feeling great about its chances to make a national championship push. The College World Series is heating up and Texas Tech would love to pull off a second consecutive upset in NCAA baseball gambling.

Texas Tech knocked off Florida by a score of 6-3. Ryan Shetter didn’t start but ended up playing the biggest role on the mound, giving up only one run in 4.1 innings of relief.
The Red Raiders scored five runs between the fourth and sixth innings as they turned a 1-0 deficit into a 5-1 lead. Grant Little was fantastic, finishing 3-for-3 with with a double and an RBI. Leadoff hitter Gabe Holt usually sets the table but he went 2-for-5 with three RBIs to help Texas Tech pick up the win as the underdog.
