This matchup of Baffert favorites features horses with strong records of success. After winning his first three races including the Grade One Los Alamitos Futurity, Improbable finished second at the Grade Two Rebel Stakes and Grade One Arkansas Derby. Roadster is coming off a highly impressive win at the Grade One Santa Anita Derby with Derby favorite Game Winner coming in second.

Game Winner may have finished second to Roadster in the Santa Anita Derby and second to Omaha Beach in the Rebel Stakes but has an impressive record of winning in his own right. As a matter of fact, Game Winner posted three consecutive Grade One wins at the Del Mar Futurity, American Pharoah Stakes, and Breeders Cup Juvenile.
Game Winner -145 vs. Roadster +115
This is a classic rematch of the top two horses at the Santa Anita Derby in which Game Winner went off as the favorite only to finish second to Roadster. Either way Bob Baffert was the winner. Game Winner is to be mounted by Joel Rosario, who has compiled over 2000 wins in his career. Rosario road to victory in the 2013 Kentucky Derby and has won the Belmont Stakes as well. He has posted six Breeders Cup wins in his career including the Classic last November. Florent Geroux will be aboard Roadsterm and road to victory in the 2017 Breeders Cup Classic but is yet to win a Triple Crown event. The savvy Rosario could be the difference maker here.

Maximum Security has never lost a race going four for four with his last win being at the Grade One Florida Derby on March 30. Thus, he will be well rested for Derby Day. Maximum Security will be mounted by Irad Ortiz Jr, who has posted over 2000 career wins with four Breeders Cup victories on his resume.
Maximum Security +105 vs. Tacitus -135
Tacitus is trained by Hall of Famer William Mott and has won three races in a row with the last two being Grade Two wins at the Tampa Bay Derby and the Wood Memorial. Tacitus will be ridden by jockey Jose Ortiz, a past winner of the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Jockey in 2017.
