Feature Race: Oaklawn Park – Grade 1 $600,000 Apple Blossom Handicap

A total of 14 fillies and mares will run in Saturday’s Apple Blossom Handicap at Oaklawn Park. The field and projected odds for the Apple Blossom Handicap is as follows: Ollie’s Candy 12/1, Coldwater 50/1, Awe Emma 30/1, Come Dancing 6/1, Point of Honor 12/1, Street Band 12/1, Queen Nekia 20/1, Saracosa 30/1, Horologist 20/1, Cookie Dough 12/1, Serengeti Empress 3/1, Go Google Yourself 15/1, Lady Apple 12/1, Ce Ce 9/2

Ollie’s Candy is trained by John Sadler with Joel Rosario getting the ride. This five-year-old mare last ran in the Grade 1 Beholder Mile Stakes at Santa Anita on March 14 and finished third. Eight of her last nine races have been Grade 2 or higher with the one exception being a Grade 3 run. Her last win was July 28, 2019 in the Grade 1 Clement L. Hirsch at Del Mar.

Come Dancing is trained by D. Wayne Lucas with Florent Geroux getting the mount. This six-year-old mare is coming off a disappointing sixth place finish at the Grade 1 Breeders Cup Filly and Mare Sprint on November 2, 2019. But before that Come Dancing was the winner of the Grade 2 Gallant Blossom Handicap and the Grade 1 Ballerina.

Serengeti Express is a four-year-old filly trained by Tom Amoss with jockey Joe Talamo aboard. After a brief slump Serengeti Empress was the winner of the Grade 2 Azeri Stakes. Her problem is that she is a weak come from behind horse that only runs well in the lead.

Ce Ce is trained by Michael McCarthy and will be ridden by jockey Victor Espinoza. Ce Ce is a four-year-old filly that will be entering this race with considerable momentum after posting a comfortable win at Santa Anita in an option claimer which was followed by another impressive win in the Grade 1 Beholder Mile.

Lady Apple is a four-year-old filly that is trained by Steven Asmussen with jockey Ricardo Santana Jr. getting the ride. Following a pair of Grade 3 wins in the Remington Park Oaks and the Houston Ladies Classic, Lady Apple finished a disappointing fifth in her last race at the Grade 2 Azeri Stakes.

Go Google Yourself is a 5-year-old mare that is trained by Paul McGee and will have Brian Hernandez Jr. aboard. Go Google Yourself is in good form coming off a win in the Grade 3 Bayakoa. It was her third win in her last for starts.
