  • BookMaker.eu If you compare this Saturday’s free UFC on FOX 23 with next month’s UFC 208 pay-per-view offering, it could be easily argued that the former is a better deal. With stars, stud prospects and a No. 1 contender in the main event, the UFC is closing out the first month of 2017 on a high note - this card is stacked with significance and exciting matchups....

  • BookMaker.eu No. 1, meet No. 2. Valentina Shevchenko, the top-ranked women’s bantamweight contender, will square off this Saturday against Julianna Pena, who falls just one spot below her in the UFC rankings. Though Dana White has yet to officially declare this a title eliminator, it’s almost a certainty that the winner will be next for champion Amanda Nunes....

  • BookMaker.eu Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone had an eye-opening 2016, smashing his way to a 4-0 record in a new weight class and emerging as a contender at welterweight. He’s earned the right to face a fellow top-5 fighter, but instead he’s meeting No. 12 Jorge Masvidal. It’s a dangerous matchup for Cowboy, but he’s never shied away from a good scrap....

  • BookMaker.eu The middleweight division is currently controlled by Michael Bisping but this is a top-heavy division with a number of capable challengers. Bisping surprised Luke Rockhold last year to win the title at UFC 199 and he has defended his title once as he beat Dan Henderson at UFC 204. There are a number of challengers lined up to take on Bisping including Yoel Romero who will get his chance once Bisping has recovered from injury. Let’s look at MMA power rankings for the middleweight division....

  • BookMaker.eu When it comes to UFC betting there is no question that favorites are more popular but underdogs are usually more profitable. The first event in 2017 was heavily in favor of the favorites as 10 of the 12 fights at UFC Fight Night 103 went to the favorite. One fight was listed as a pick so only one underdog cashed for bettors. It is not unusual to see favorites win as they hit at over 60% in UFC betting but it is unusual to see 10 of 11 come through. Let’s look back at what happened in the first event of 2017, look back at the UFC betting numbers for 2016 and look ahead to the next UFC events....

  • BookMaker.eu What are the big main events in MMA to look forward to early in 2017? You might think that UFC events would get all of the attention but that is not the case as Bellator has an excellent main event on January 21st at Bellator 170 as Tito Ortiz takes on Chael Sonnen. That fight definitely has more appeal than some of the upcoming UFC main events like Rodriguez vs. Penn or Shevchenko vs. Pena. The good news for the UFC is that UFC 209 in March will feature a rematch between Tyrone Woodley and Stephen Thompson. Let’s look at what is coming up in the next few months in UFC and Bellator....

  • BookMaker.eu What can we expect in MMA action for 2017? Will the UFC have another monster year or will the sale of the UFC to WME-IMG mark the beginning of a big downturn for the UFC? Is 2017 the year that Bellator will make huge gains and take away some of the UFC audience? Will Conor McGregor return late in the year and give fans a reason to shell out money for a big pay-per-view? Let’s answer some of those questions and look at 2017 MMA predictions....

  • BookMaker.eu The two biggest stars in the UFC are currently out of action with Conor McGregor on baby watch while Ronda Rousey is contemplating retirement. The UFC badly needed Rousey to beat Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 but it didn’t happen as Rousey was demolished in under a minute. The UFC now has no superstars to lead their pay-per-view events in 2017 until McGregor returns and there are no real upcoming stars on the horizon to fill the gap....

  • BookMaker.eu The last UFC event of 2016 is UFC 207 on Friday, December 30th so now is the perfect time to look at the final MMA rankings of 2016 as the rankings will change next year. Demetrious Johnson is the top fighter in the flyweight division and he is also considered the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Dominick Cruz is the top-ranked fighter in the bantamweight division but he will have to get past Cody Garbrandt at UFC 207 to retain that ranking. Let’s look at the top 10 from all eight men’s divisions and the top 10 from the two women’s divisions....

  • BookMaker.eu In a de facto heavyweight title eliminator, two-time former champion Cain Velasquez will look to avenge the worst loss of his career against Fabricio Werdum on the main card of this Saturday’s UFC 207. It wasn’t long ago that when Velasquez was on track to become the greatest heavyweight in UFC history - but injuries and his stunning upset loss to “Vai Cavalo” at UFC 188 derailed those hopes. Can he recapture the dominance that led him to the strap?...

  • BookMaker.eu UFC 207 takes place on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card airs on pay-per-view starting 9 p.m. ET following the FS1 prelims. Bet on the latest UFC odds at BookMaker.eu today!...

  • BookMaker.eu More than a year after suffering one of the biggest upsets in UFC history, Ronda Rousey will return to the octagon to fight for the bantamweight title. It’s one of the most compelling comeback stories of the year, surrounding the fighter who was the UFC’s biggest star before Conor McGregor snatched the distinction as the new double champ....

  • BookMaker.eu Title fights are awesome. Grudge matches are even better. A title fight that’s also a grudge match? That’s can’t-miss television, and this Saturday’s bantamweight title bout between Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrandt is exactly that. Cruz has beef with all Team Alpha Male, but he’s taken special exception to “No Love’s” bold outbursts....

  • BookMaker.eu 2016 will go down as the craziest year ever in the UFC. Now the question is, can it be topped? Hell yes it can! We have no idea what the new management has planned in their first full year, but we do know that they’ll want to see a return on investment. So far, this is looking like less events overall, but more tentpole PPV cards to rally around....

  • BookMaker.eu The year’s end is MMA’s award season. Unlike the NBA, NFL or any other major sport, cage fighting isn’t limited to a specific time period - there is no offseason. So we can break down accomplishments over the course of one full year and make our selections. The most prestigious award is without a doubt Fighter of the Year. It’s a huge honor bestowed by every major media outlet - ESPN even includes it in their ESPYs. And it’s a damn fun award to debate....

  • BookMaker.eu Conor McGregor said that he is weighing multiple options for his return including fighting much earlier than Dana White originally predicted. McGregor said he still considered himself a two-weight world champion but that he doesn’t know what is going to happen next year. A multitude of options are on the table for McGregor with the most likely scenario having him defend his lightweight title but other possibilities including boxing and wrestling are still on the table....

  • BookMaker.eu Welcome to the final UFC Champions Rankings of 2016. It’s been a wild ride for titleholders, which has kept us extremely busy - but it’s sure been a ton of fun keeping up. There’s still two more title fights left for the year, both taking place at UFC 207 on December 30, and we’ll make sure to update our rankings next month to include the results....

  • BookMaker.eu It’s a slow week for MMA, with no UFC events to keep us entertained through the weekend. Consider it the calm before the storm, because next week’s UFC 207 is looking to close the year out with a bang. On the fight card, there are seven combined champions and former champions and two title fights. Plus, we get the return of Ronda Rousey, who was the UFC’s biggest superstar before Conor McGregor....
