So did you ever think you’d get the chance to bet the Brooklyn Nets as -120 favorites to defeat the Milwaukee Bucks at the outset of this second round series? Well, that’s exactly the case with it all knotted up at three apiece after Giannis Antetokounmpo and company cruised to the win and cover back home in Game 6. The series now heads back to Brooklyn where the Nets haven’t lost a game throughout the playoffs 6-0 ATS. On top of that, it covered all three matchups against the Bucks at online sportsbooks. However this time, they’re deemed slim favorites by those setting the lines after closing short pups the last two times due to injuries to both Kyrie Irving and James Harden. The last time “The Greek Freak” partook in a Game 7, his Bucks were sent home by the Celtics in a non-covering fashion. I don’t think they win this game, so it goes to reason they won’t end up covering this time either.

Odds Analysis
The Nets -120 find themselves installed short favorites to win this game on the moneyline, but alas, they’re still the odds on +330 favorites to win the title with the Bucks +440 clocking in behind the Suns +260. With that, does it make more sense to bet them to win it all than to win this game? Going that route would certainly offer up more value, but not knowing as to the availability of Kyrie makes taking the plunge a bit risky. The home team has won every single game in this series with the under cashing in all but one game. Don’t even get me started about how big of a letdown that’s been! Will the teams go out with a bang, or will it be another ugly game marred by scoring droughts and turnovers like so many before?
Milwaukee Bucks
Giannis and Khris Middleton have been the Bucks’ driving forces since the ball was put into the air from the opening tip of Game 1. That trend continued on Thursday night when the duo each went HAM to afford the franchise another shot of advancing into the Eastern Conference Finals. The Freak went for 30 points, 17 rebounds and took his sweet ‘ol time to convert six of 10 shots from the charity stripe. Middleton was the only Milwaukee shooter to find success from deep knocking down 5 of 8 shots. He would go on to lead the Bucks in scoring with a game-high 38 points, and his 10 rebounds allowed for Milwaukee to dominate the battle of the boards 51-39. Will the duo have enough fuel in the tank to do it all over again Saturday night? I don’t think so!
Brooklyn Nets
Not much good came out of Game 6 for the Nets. All five starters carried +/- in the negative with Kevin Durant and Joe Harris clocking in at an embarrassing -25. While KD did his best to build off Game 5’s superhuman effort, his 32 points on 50 percent shooting didn’t even put a dent in the team’s deficit all night long. The only good thing top come out of the game was Harden’s 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. More importantly, he was able to stay on the court for 40 minutes 24 hours removed from getting his first good sweat in weeks the previous game. Unfortunately, Blake Griffin rounded out the three double-digit scorers. It’s going to need to get much more than that from the rest of the guys to fend the Bucks off in Game 7.
Milwaukee vs. Brooklyn Prediction
I couldn’t help but think the Nets mailed Game 6 in from the outset knowing full well they’d likely have a much better chance of closing the series out on its home hardwood two-days later. In fact, I’m 100 percent sold on that train of thought. There was no energy. There was no urgency. Milwaukee simply got out to a lead and was never seriously challenged the rest of the way. I don’t expect that to occur in this win or go home bout with everything on the line. It might even be a possibility for Kyrie to get back in the lineup and do some damage provided his ankle took a turn for the better. Should that be the case, you should jump on the Nets right now since the NBA odds are likely to swell immediately after news of his possible return is either leaked or reported. Either way, I just don’t see the Nets dropping this game so I’ll pony up and force the Bucks to prove me wrong.
