Los Angeles FC MLS Betting
Los Angeles FC are looking to become the first club since rivals Los Angeles Galaxy to win consecutive MLS Cup Finals. After years of regular season success, LAFC won their first MLS Cup last year in a thriller against the Philadelphia Union.
The club struck first against the Union in the finals thanks to a 28th minute goal from Kellyn Acosta. Philly leveled, but it looked like LAFC would win after Jesus David Murillo scored in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, the Union brought the game level once more two minutes later of a Jack Elliott goal, and Elliott scored again at the 120+4’ mark to seemingly clinch the title for his team. However, it was LAFC’s turn to play spoiler with Gareth Bale heading home a goal at 120+8’ to send the game to penalties.
Philadelphia missed all three of its chances to allow LAFC to claim its first major title.

Los Angeles FC 2023 Preview
Carlos Vela is the only player that is still on the roster from the inaugural team in 2018. Latif Blessing was traded to the New England Revolution this offseason, becoming the latest high-profile player to leave Los Angeles FC. Other greats like Diego Rossi, Eduard Atuesta, Adama Diomande, and Mark-Anthony Kaye had already departed, leaving Vela as the lone holdover, and the club is hoping that he can stay healthy and show the form we saw during his record-breaking campaign in 2019.
LAFC lost two of its best scoring options from last year too. Gareth Bale retired from football after scoring one of the biggest goals in MLS history, and Cristian Arango was transferred to Liga MX champions Pachuca for $6 million. However, the club is optimistic that Denis Bouanga can take a big step forward after being acquired for $5 million from Ligue 1 club Saint-Etienne last August. They also brought in Stipe Biuk from Hajduk Split in Croatia, and the 20-year-old could be a star.
Aaron Long will helm the back line after being acquired from the New York Red Bulls this offseason, and Kellyn Acosta continues to be a major playmaker in the midfield after being acquired from the Colorado Rapids in January 2022.

It’s been a great first few seasons for Los Angeles FC. LAFC was a contender right out of the gate under Bob Bradley. They finished in third place in the Western Conference in their debut season, and they were one of the final four teams in the US Open Cup. That paved the way for an incredible second season that was one of the best we’ve ever seen from any team in the MLS.
Carlos Vela put together the greatest year for a forward in MLS history in 2019. Just one year after Josef Martinez broke the single season scoring record, Vela shattered the mark with 34 goals in 31 games. He was unstoppable in Bradley’s system, adding 15 assists while linking up with Diego Rossi and Adama Diomande to create the most terrifying trio the league has ever seen. The three players combined to score 63 goals if you include the playoffs.
However, despite all that regular season success, LAFC were unable to win a trophy and struggled mightily in 2020 and 2021. The Black and Gold were outstanding during the 2022 campaign though, winning the Supporters’ Shield for the second time and claiming their first MLS Cup too.
