Sporting Kansas City MLS Betting
Sporting Kansas City did not get off to a good start during the 2023 season. Sporting KC didn’t pick up its first win until their 11th game on May 7, and they are currently one point ahead of the Los Angeles Galaxy in the race to avoid the Wooden Spoon. There was hope that they had improved after winning five of their last eight matches to close out the 2022 campaign, but they have been abysmal up top. Sporting KC scored just three goals through its first 10 matches, so it’s clear that this squad needs to create more offense in a hurry.

Sporting Kansas City 2023 Preview
William Agada was fantastic in limited action with the club last season. Agada signed with Sporting Kansas City in June, and he was instrumental to the team’s turnaround at the end of the campaign. He notched eight goals and two assists in just 12 appearances, so the hope is that he could potentially have a 20-goal season with Johnny Russell alongside him in a playmaking role.
The front office is desperately trying to improve a porous back line too. Sporting KC signed Tim Leibold from Hamburger SV in January, and they also brought in Nemanja Radoja from La Liga to focus on improving the defensive midfield. This is where the club needs to improve the most if they have any hope of returning to the playoffs.

Over the course of their history, Sporting Kansas City have done it all. The franchise was one of the original clubs in Major League Soccer, and they have had plenty of success over that time.
Like some of the other teams in the MLS, Sporting Kansas City underwent a name change in order to sound more like a traditional soccer team. The club was known as the Kansas City Wiz during their inaugural season, and then became the Kansas City Wizards in their second season. They held that moniker until they opened their new soccer-specific stadium in 2011 when they rebranded to Sporting Kansas City.
Sporting Kansas City claimed a double in 2000, winning the MLS Cup and the Supporters Shield to claim their first two trophies. Since then, they have gone on to win U.S. Open Cups in 2004, 2012, 2015, and 2017, and they claimed another MLS Cup in 2013. Their four U.S. Open Cups have them tied with the Chicago Fire and Seattle Sounders for the most all-time among MLS teams.
