FIFA World Cup Betting: Usually South Korea is able to qualify for the World Cup with ease. Over the past three decades, this has been the best, most consistent team in Asia, and they have not missed out on a World Cup since 1982.
However, there are some concerns about this team. Qualifying was not easy for South Korea and the country nearly had to square off with Australia in a playoff. Results in friendless since then haven’t been too encouraging either with losses to Northern Ireland and Poland and a draw versus Jamaica. As a result, most analysts are picking them to finish last in Group F.
Once every four years, the world's most popular game has its biggest tournament. The World Cup is as big as it gets all over the world, especially for the 32 countries who have earned the right to partake in this tournament. We think of the World Cup as a four-week tournament in June and July every few years, but this is actually a tournament where every FIFA team in the world has a chance to make it to the big stage.
The 2018 World Cup in Russia will begin on Thursday, June 14 and run through the final on Sunday, July 15. All of the action can be seen on FOX, FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2.

History at the World Cup
South Korea has made it to nine straight World Cups, but has only made it out of the Group Stage twice. In 2002, South Korea was the Cinderella team of the tournament, playing on its home soil. Then, Korea had a magical run where it defeated both Italy and Spain in extra time to get to the semifinals before bowing out.
Unfortunately, it’s been mostly disappointment for Korea aside from that. The country has a 5-9-17 record all-time at the World Cup and has typically been easy to pick apart at the back. Korea is hoping that won’t be the case this time around.
Player to Watch
Son Heung-Min is the player to keep an eye on for South Korea. Heung-min has been a diamond in the rough for Tottenham over the last few years, but he has really stood out after the injury to Harry Kane.
Heung-min has been able to showcase some of his talents in Kane’s absence and he is more than capable of taking over a match. He can be used in a variety of ways too, so expect Korea to move him around in order to try to attack the weak point of the defense.
Heung-min has averaged around a goal in every three games for both Tottenham and South Korea, so he is more than capable of finding the back of the net. He might need to do that two or three times in the Group Stage if Korea has any hope of getting to the knockout rounds.
