Tennis Betting Online: One of the newest events on the ATP calendar is the Shenzhen Open, one of China's premier events. This year, the Shenzhen Open will begin on Monday, September 26 and will finish up on Sunday, October 2. All of the action for the 28 men in attendance will take place on the hard courts at the Shenzhen Longgang Tennis Center.
The ladies have their own version of this tournament, also known as the Shenzhen Open, but they play at the outset of the year in January as a preparation for the Australia Open. The men's Shenzhen Open takes place here in September as a part of the ATP World Tour 250 Series.
What's interesting about the Shenzhen Open is that is actually has drawn some pretty good players over the course of its first two years in existence. Normally speaking, events like this one get ignored by the top dogs on the ATP Tour after the long Grand Slam season, and some even call it quits for the year until just before the Australian Open in January.
However, in both 2014 and 2015, at least one of the Top 5 players in the world have shown up to Shenzhen, and this year very well could be no exception to that rule.
In 2014, it was Andy Murray who outlasted Tommy Robredo in a three-set thriller to win the Shenzhen Open. At the time though, Murray was only ranked No. 12 in the world and was trying to get back into form after an injury-riddled year. Murray didn't come back to defend his Shenzhen Open crown in 2015, but instead, Tomas Berdych came and dominated the proceedings, winning the tournament in dominant fashion, dismissing Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the final in straight sets.
