The 10th match of the TGL Golf season takes place on Monday, February 24th with Los Angeles Golf Club taking on New York Golf Club. Just two weeks remain in the TGL regular season so every match is critical, as just four of the six teams qualify for the playoffs. Los Angeles Golf Club is 2-1 with their only loss coming in overtime so they are in second place in the TGL standings with five points and they can clinch a playoff spot with a win. New York Golf Club is 1-2 and in fourth place with two points. Los Angeles Golf Club features Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala and this week Tony Finau will be making his first appearance for the team as a substitute, while New York Golf Club features Matt Fitzpatrick and Rickie Fowler. New York has been without Xander Schauffele for much of the season, as Schauffele is dealing with a minor injury. Los Angeles is currently the second choice in TGL odds to win the championship behind The Bay Golf Club, while New York Golf Club is fourth in TGL futures odds.

This TGL match between Los Angeles Golf Club and New York Golf Club can be seen on ESPN 2 beginning at 5:00 p.m. Eastern on Monday, February 24 at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Three players from each team will battle in a 15-hole match with nine holes of Triples and six holes of Singles. The TGL course is about the size of a football field and has real tee boxes, real fairway surfaces, real sand and putting surfaces that change on each hole. Shots are hit into a giant golf simulator screen which is more than 20 times larger than a normal golf simulator screen.

When the action begins on Monday, the players will be playing Triples which is an alternate-shot format with players taking turns from hole-to-hole and rotate hitting shots until the hole is completed. In Singles, players will go head-to-head in six Singles holes. Each player on the team will play two Singles holes. Every hole is worth one point unless a team uses the “Hammer” and each team will begin the match with three Hammers, a rule change that began last week with great success. The team with the most points wins the match. When a team plays the hammer the stakes of the hole go up by one point. The other team then gets control of the Hammer and could play it again making the hole worth three points or hold it for later. Teams can decline the Hammer but if they decline, they concede the hole unless the Hammer was thrown before the first tee shot on a hole and then they have no choice but to accept. Matches go to overtime if tied after 15 holes. The teams would then compete in a best two-of-three closest to the pin competition.

The match between Finau and Young will be interesting, as both players are long off the tee. The match between Morikawa and Fitzpatrick will have Morikawa favored, as he is unbeaten in singles play at 2-0-2, while Fitzpatrick has yet to win a hole this season. The match between Theegala and Fowler looks even, as Theegala is considered the better player, but Fowler has done well in singles with a 2-1-3 record.
