TGL Match 3 - New York GC vs. Atlanta Drive GC Betting
The third match of the TGL Golf season takes place on Tuesday, January 21st with New York GC taking on Atlanta Drive GC. These two teams are full of star power, as the Atlanta Drive GC team features Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay, while the New York Golf Club features Xander Schauffele and Rickie Fowler. Atlanta Drive GC opened up as a slight favorite in TGL odds. The Week 3 TGL match can be seen on ESPN beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, January 21st at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Three players from each team will battle in a 15-hole match with nine holes of Triples and six holes of Singles. The TGL course is about the size of a football field and has real tee boxes, real fairway surfaces, real sand and putting surfaces that change on each hole. Shots are hit into a giant golf simulator screen which is more than 20 times larger than a normal golf simulator screen. In the first match of the season, the Bay Golf Club defeated the New York Golf Club by a score of 9-2 and last week it was the Los Angeles Golf Club routing Jupiter Links Golf Club by a score of 12-1.

When the action begins on Tuesday, the players will be playing Triples which is an alternate-shot format with players taking turns from hole-to-hole and rotate hitting shots until the hole is completed. In Singles, players will go head-to-head in six Singles holes.
Each player on the team will play two Singles holes. Every hole is worth one point unless a team uses the “Hammer.” The team with the most points wins the match. When a team plays the hammer the stakes of the hole go up by one point. The other team then gets control of the Hammer and could play it again making the hole worth three points or hold it for later. Teams can decline the Hammer but if they decline, they concede the hole unless the Hammer was thrown before the first tee shot on a hole and then they have no choice but to accept. Matches go to overtime if tied after 15 holes. The teams would then compete in a best two-of-three closest to the pin competition.
