The ninth match of the TGL Golf season takes place on Tuesday, February 18th with Jupiter Links Golf Club taking on New York Golf Club. Jupiter Links GC features Tiger Woods and Tom Kim, while New York Golf Club features Rickie Fowler and Matt Fitzpatrick. Jupiter Links GC split their first two matches, losing in a blowout to Los Angeles Golf Club 12-1, while beating Boston Common Golf in overtime by a score of 4-3. New York Golf Club has not looked good at all, as they were routed 9-2 by The Bay Golf Club in their first match and the were shut out by Atlanta Drive GC, losing 4-0 in their second match. This TGL match between Jupiter Links GC and New York Golf Club can be seen on ESPN beginning at 7:00 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, February 18 at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The match will conclude a busy week for TGL, as they were three matches held on Monday. Three players from each team will battle in a 15-hole match with nine holes of Triples and six holes of Singles. The TGL course is about the size of a football field and has real tee boxes, real fairway surfaces, real sand and putting surfaces that change on each hole. Shots are hit into a giant golf simulator screen which is more than 20 times larger than a normal golf simulator screen.

When the action begins on Tuesday, the players will be playing Triples which is an alternate-shot format with players taking turns from hole-to-hole and rotate hitting shots until the hole is completed. In Singles, players will go head-to-head in six Singles holes. Each player on the team will play two Singles holes. Every hole is worth one point unless a team uses the “Hammer” and each team will begin the match with three Hammers, a rule change that begins this week. The team with the most points wins the match. When a team plays the hammer the stakes of the hole go up by one point. The other team then gets control of the Hammer and could play it again making the hole worth three points or hold it for later. Teams can decline the Hammer but if they decline, they concede the hole unless the Hammer was thrown before the first tee shot on a hole and then they have no choice but to accept. Matches go to overtime if tied after 15 holes. The teams would then compete in a best two-of-three closest to the pin competition.

New York has yet to win a match, but they lead the league in driving distance at 321.7 yard. The problem for New York has been on the green, as they have not made a putt outside of 10 feet, as they are 0-13. The match between Woods and Young will have them playing the 554-yard par 5 10th hole and the par-4 13th hole.

Kisner and Fowler should feel comfortable, as this will be their third singles match. The two will have the drivable par 4 11th hole and the par 3-14th hole which is nicknamed the Cliffhanger.

Kim was excellent in his debut, especially with his putting and he will get a quick chance in the match against Fitzpatrick to put his putting skills on display, as the two will play the par 3 12th hole. They also have the par 5 15th hole to play.
