Bubba Watson hasn’t played in almost a month after finished tied for 10th at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, but he is the betting favorite at BookMaker. Watson’s +1125 odds come with pedigree. He’s finished runner-up each of the last two years and once was a native of Scottsdale.

Brandt Snedeker carries the second-lowest odds to win at +1550 after a win last weekend at Torrey Pines in the Farmers Insurance Open. He didn’t have to swing a stick on Monday after the tournament was suspended due to weather, but left a winner. You have to wonder if that extra day of hanging around will have any effect on the swinger.

In his second season on Tour, Brooks Koepka won this event last year with +8400 odds! He passed up four players on the final day en route to carding a 66 and his first Tour victory. Koepka’s odds to win the Phoenix Open have drastically been reduced in 2016.

Phil Mickelson has played in this event 26 times and won thrice. Mickelson looked mentally array last week at Torrey Pines as he played well on the more difficult South course but absolutely blew up on the back 9 of the North course. He missed the cut and looked like a man that couldn’t get off the course fast enough. Mickelson is priced with +2850 odds to win this week.

A darkhorse in the field to win is Brendan Steele. He finished 26th here last year but the three years prior to that were T-6th, T-6th and T-5th. The Man of Steele has value odds at +5500.

Don’t sleep on newcomer Si Woo Kim either. This will be the rookie’s first foray into the desert, but the kid can flat out play. In three events this year, Kim has logged a fourth place finish, T-9th and T-18th. It will be interesting to see how the South Korean handles the raucous crowd on the 16th.
