Horse Betting Online: Even though Del Mar Thoroughbred Club doesn't ultimately host any of the Triple Crown races, you're not going to find a much nicer track than this one. A whopping 44,000 people can attend race days at Del Mar, and often times for the big meets, they at least get close to capacity. Not that the time of year ever matters when you're situated right on the Pacific Ocean just 20 miles north of San Diego, but the 2018 season runs from Wednesday, July 18 through Monday, September 3. The track will open up again on November 11 and stay open for a short three weeks through Sunday, December 4.
Over the course of the summer meet, Del Mar Thoroughbred Club is the home to six Grade 1 races, 11 Grade 2 races and four Grade 3 races. There are a total of 36 races which have guaranteed purses of at least $100,000, making it one of the richest tracks in the nation outside of the Triple Crown races and whichever track hosts the Breeders' Cup on an annual basis.
