UFC 200: Miesha Tate vs Amanda NunesUFC Betting Online: Even though by definition, Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes really shouldn't be fighting against each other for the women's bantamweight division title. These two are separated by four spots on the ladder with big names like Holly Holm, Cat Zingano and Ronda Rousey still in the middle of them.

That said, this is as big of a shot as Nunes will have in her career to immediately get to the top of the charts in the biggest women's division in mixed martial arts, and Tate will have to be careful in her first title defense.

Miesha Tate Recent Form

Tate was more or less forgotten in the women's bantamweight division in 2013. She had her shot against first Zingano, then Rousey, but she was beaten in both fights in the third round. Both fights were awarded Fight of the Night honors, but when you come out second best, that's of little consolation.

Tate still hasn't beaten Rousey in two chances in her career, and she's sure to be a big underdog when the two of them inevitably meet again. But still, just as Holm upset Rousey, Tate upset Holm. Not only did Tate win the fight, but she hung in there for five rounds and ultimately picked up the victory by submission in UFC 196.

The wins against Jessica Eye, Sara McMann, Rin Nakai and Liz Carmouche weren't tremendous bouts, but wins were wins, and that's why she ultimately had a shot to win the bantamweight title as soon as Rousey was knocked from the top of the table.

Amanda Nunes Recent Form

Nunes has never had a shot quite like this in her career. She's won three fights in a row, albeit against significantly lesser fighters like Valentina Shevchenko, Sara McMann and Shayna Baszler. The last time she fought against any of the top fighters in the bantamweight division, she was knocked out in the third round by Zingano.

That said, thanks to the fact that Rousey is still injured and the Holm/Tate rematch seems to be at least a year away really set this opportunity up. Why Nunes got this fight instead of Zingano, a fighter ranked in front of her in the bantamweight division? That's a good question. Instead, Zingano is set to take on Julianna Pena as a part of the undercard of UFC 200.

Keys to the Fight

The power of Nunes is going to have to shine here if she's going to win this fight. She's already got nine knockouts in her career, but when her power game is neutralized, she ultimately usually ends up falling flat.

The other key is obviously going to be getting Tate down on the mat, something that Holm wasn't able to do a few months ago when the bantamweight title was on the line.

Tate is a good defender against strikes, successfully avoiding 52 percent of her opponents' strikes in her career. She's going to get outstruck in this match as she did against Holm when she was down 59-40 at the time of the last takedown, but her technical prowess is what got her to the finish line. As soon as the opportunity struck to get Holm on the mat and put her in a submission, the fight was over with.

Tate is a relatively large -255 favorite to win this fight at BookMaker Sportsbook, insinuating that Nunes is out of her league.

We'll find out if the Brazilian has what it takes with some more experience under her belt to take on the top dog of the woman's bantamweight division on Saturday, July 9, 2016. That's when Miesha Tate will defender her bantamweight belt against Amanda Nunes in UFC 200 in Las Vegas.
