NCAA Football Betting Online: The Utah State Aggies have been trending in the wrong direction the past couple of seasons. After an impressive stretch from 2012 to 2014 in which they averaged 10 wins a year, but went 6-7 in 2015 and may have bottomed out with a 3-9 record last year.
Utah State is expected to improve incrementally this season, and a return to a bowl game would be a nice goal. The Aggies could be right on that edge, and need to pull out some close games in order to return to the postseason.

Utah State’s offense had a ton of trouble a season ago, averaging only 23.9 points per game, which was 108th in the nation out of 128 teams. The Aggies do have plenty of players returning but they will need to improve.
Kent Myers will be the starting quarterback again this season. He threw for 2,394 yards with 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2016 while adding 449 rushing yards and six more scores.
Ron’Quavion Tarver led the Aggies with 46 receptions for 602 yards and three touchdowns last season and hopes to get closer to 1,000 yards this season. Tonny Lindsey is back as the starting running back after rushing for 763 yards and six touchdowns in 2016.
The defense gets eight starters back, led by star defensive back Jalen Davis. The secondary should be solid, but the Aggies must be able to get after the quarterback on the edge. The defense should be solid, and it will need to be against some high-powered offenses in the conference.

There is reason to believe in a turnaround for Utah State since it has so many players returning. There are three or four pretty winnable games on the schedule, and just one or two more upsets could help the Aggies surpass the projected win total and be back in contention for a bowl game.
The Aggies have been pretty consistent in recent years and will aim to get back to that after a poor showing last year. The pieces are in place for a better performance in 2017.
