European Tour Golf Betting Odds: The early portions of the European PGA Tour season don't provide a heck of a lot of big tournaments, but the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship is certainly one of those that shouldn't be missed for golf betting fans. With a prize pool of $2.7 million and a tremendous backdrop at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club, all of the top Euro PGA golfers will be out to try to claim a big time championship.
All of the action at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship will take place from Thuesday, January 16 through Saturday, January 19, 2019.

The Euro PGA Tour has made a conscious effort over the course of the last several years to have more tournaments in Asia, including in the Middle East. The oil-rich countries have been a big part of this, including the UAE. What makes the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship relatively rare is that it is a Euro PGA Tour event held on Asian soil, yet it's not co-sanctioned by the Asian PGA Tour. As a result, there is a relatively limited number of golfers who come to play at this tournament.
Though it doesn't happen often, there are golfers who are regulars on the PGA Tour who come over to play in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship simply because they want to play against better competition early in the season than what the PGA Tour offers until we get closer to the Masters. The allure of this $2.7 million prize pool is also a big draw for a handful of top PGA Tour members. That's how Rickie Fowler won this tournament in 2016.

Go back and look at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship over the course of the last several years. Gary Stal shot a -19 to win this event in 2015, and he was the first to come anywhere near -20 since Martin Kaymer broke the tournament record by a wide margin in 2011 when he won by a whopping eight shots over the rest of the field in shooting -24. There have only been seven examples in the history of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship who have shot -20 or better. Kaymer, for good measure, has four of the seven.

How to bet on Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship
The odds of a golfer to win the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship will generally look something like:
- Tiger Woods + 150
- Phil Mickelson + 250
- Steve Stricker + 300
- Jeff Overton + 700
- Ernie Els + 700
- Field + 600
These betting odds will be lower when betting on a golfer to finish in the top three, as the sportsbook must pay off three different winning bets.
A player would have to bet $10 to win $150 that Tiger Woods will win the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, while the bettor wagering on Jeff Overton stands to win $70 on their $10 wager.
Another commonly placed bet in European Golf golf is head-to-head finish between two players. With this bet, a player doesn't really care what place the golfer finishes in, as long as the golfer wagered on finishes higher than the other golfer.
A head-to-head betting line for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship will look something like:
- Tiger Woods - 190 Steve Stricker + 150
In this bet, players wagering on Woods to finish higher than Stricker will be asked to risk $19 to win $10, while bettors believing that Stricker will finish higher than Woods will bet $10 to win $15.
Those familiar with sports betting will have no trouble making the transition to European Golf golf wagering, while those new to the world of sports betting should be able to pick up the concepts of European golf betting without to much trouble.
