European Tour Golf Betting Odds: Whereas the PGA Tour has introduced the FedEx Cup over the course of the last several years, the European PGA Tour has started a relatively new event as well known as the European Championship Final Series. Golfers have one final push over the course of the end of the year to get into the Top 60 in the "Race to Dubai" standings, and those who survive after the Nedbank Golf Challenge will be invited to play in the coveted DP World Tour Championship.
All of the action at the DP World Tour Championship will take place from Thursday, November 16 through Sunday, November 19, 2017.
2017 DP World Tour Championship At a Glance
Course: Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Par: 288
Course Length: 7,675 yards
Defending Champion: Matthew Fitzpatrick
Tournament Record: -25 (263)
Because the DP World Tour Championship is limited to just the top 60 players in the world, the competition is sure to be fierce. There is no cut line to worry about, so even if you've had a bad first couple days in Dubai, you'll have the weekend to continue to try to rebound.
The course in Dubai at Jumeirah Golf Estates is out of this world, and at 7,675 yards, it's a relatively long course by European PGA Tour standards. Golfers have been all over the place in this field, and it isn't out of the ordinary to see winners getting the job done by ridiculous quantities of strokes. The last two editions of the DP World Tour Championship though, were both decided by just a single stroke.
The DP World Tour Championship only dates back to its inaugural offering in 2009.

The winners' list for the DP World Tour Championship is out of this world and may as well be a who's who of the top golfers who play on the European PGA Tour. Dominance is the name of the game of late, and that shouldn't be all that shocking considering the fact that only the Top 60 golfers for the year get a chance to play in this event. Rory McIlroy and Henrik Stenson are the only two winners the DP World Tour Championship has known since 2011 when it was known as the Dubai World Championship.
However, Matthew Fitzpatrick broke the mold in 2016. He only has three all-time professional wins, and though this victory was his second of the season, it's hard to say that he's a household name at this point on the Euro PGA Tour.

We've already mentioned McIlroy and Stenson in this as four of the seven winners this tournament has ever had, but these two men are the only two-time winners of the event. Both figure to be able to go for a third this year in Dubai.
Stenson pulled off the back-to-back in 2013 and 2014, and though both tournaments were held at the same location at the Jumeriah Golf Estates, each year played significantly different due to Mother Nature having her say in the proceedings.
The winning margin for Stenson of six strokes in 2013 still stands as a record, though the mark was originally met by Lee Westwood, the inaugural winner of the event in 2009.

Rare is the golfer who has managed to put together a winning score of -20 or better here at the DP World Tour Championship. McIlroy is the most recent to do it with his one-stroke win at -21 in 2015, while Stenson holds the course record from his ridiculous -25 tourney in which he beat runner-up Ian Poulter by six strokes.
