European Tour Golf Betting Odds: The 2016 European PGA Tour season will continue on Thursday, August 25 at the Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort in Farso, Denmark. The aptly named Made in Denmark is one of the summer's premier events on the European Tour calendar, and with the Olympics and the majors firmly out of the way, this is a chance for players to kick back in an awesome location in Denmark and take advantage of a very short golf course.
In fact, the Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort has one of the shortest par-3 holes on the planet, a hole which played at just 79 yards in 2015. However, it's not just the short par-3 16th which is relatively short. This course only plays at 7,033 yards, significantly shorter than most of the events on the docket on the European PGA Tour.
That doesn't mean that scores are viciously low, though. Last year's winner of the event, David Horsey carded a 13-under 271 over the course of the four days, and he was one of the six players who managed to best 10-under for the tournament. In 2014, the inaugural year of the event, Scotland's Marc Warren shot -9 over the four days in Denmark, and no one finished within even a stroke of him.
Golfers on the European PGA Tour are used to playing in some windier conditions than the PGA Tour golfers are, but in Farso, the conditions could go south in a hurry. Keep a really close eye on the weather reports if you plan on betting on the Made in Denmark, especially if weather conditions are expected to improve or worsen throughout the day. This course at the Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort plays much different in windy conditions than in calm weather, and the slightest hint of rain can make expansive roughs and traps play like nightmares for players.
