European Tour Golf Betting Odds: As the Euro PGA Tour extended itself into the Middle East, one of the first stops was very predictably Dubai. The UAE has a ton of money and is one of the most luxurious places in the world, and it isn't surprising that one of the top events of the early portion of the year when the weather is awful in most of Europe is played here in Dubai. The Omega Dubai Desert Classic should once again be a can't miss event in 2018.
All of the action at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic will take place from Thursday, January 25 through Sunday, January 28, 2018.

Back when the Omega Dubai Desert Classic was created in 1989, it was an incredibly minor event. Things were so bad in Dubai in the early-90s that the Omega Dubai Desert Classic wasn't played in 1991. But when the event came back in 1992, it all of a sudden started drawing some of the best and brightest on the Euro PGA Tour. Even some players from the PGA Tour have played and been success here in Dubai, including Tiger Woods and Ernie Els, a two-time and three-time winner of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic respectively.
Now, the Omega Dubai Desert Classic is a mainstay on the Euro PGA Tour, and rare is the example in which a player outside of the Top 50 or so ultimately goes on to win because virtually all of them end up playing.

The names that have won the Omega Dubai Desert Classic are absolutely out of this world. From Tiger Woods to Ernie Els to Henrik Stenson to Rory McIlroy, and even to Danny Willett, a man who came into the limelight when he won the Masters just a couple months after he won this event, this really is a who's who of champions.
It also isn't often that American golfers have won many Euro PGA Tour events. Of course, when you can draw a player like Woods to your tournament, you know you're doing something right. Woods represents two of the four American winners of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic all-time, the others being Mark O'Meara and Fred Couples, who were once upon a time amongst the top players on the PGA Tour.

We've seen winning scores all over the place in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic over the years. The very first winner of the tournament, Mark James, shot a -11 to beat Peter O'Malley in a playoff, and the next year, the only golfer who finished double-digits under par was winner, Eamonn Darcy who shot just -12.
That said, there are five winners of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic who have shot at least -20. Ernie Els and Fred Couples were the two to pull off the feat in the mid-1990s, and it wasn't replicated again since Thomas Bjorn fired a tournament record -22, 266. Stephen Gallacher and Rory McIlroy have since duplicated that accomplishment.

How to bet on Omega Dubai Desert Classic
The odds of a golfer to win the Omega Dubai Desert Classic will generally look something like:
- Tiger Woods + 150
- Phil Mickelson + 250
- Steve Stricker + 300
- Jeff Overton + 700
- Ernie Els + 700
- Field + 600
These betting odds will be lower when betting on a golfer to finish in the top three, as the sportsbook must pay off three different winning bets.
A player would have to bet $10 to win $150 that Tiger Woods will win the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, while the bettor wagering on Jeff Overton stands to win $70 on their $10 wager.
Another commonly placed bet in European Golf golf is head-to-head finish between two players. With this bet, a player doesn't really care what place the golfer finishes in, as long as the golfer wagered on finishes higher than the other golfer.
A head-to-head betting line for the Omega Dubai Desert Classic will look something like:
- Tiger Woods - 190 Steve Stricker + 150
In this bet, players wagering on Woods to finish higher than Stricker will be asked to risk $19 to win $10, while bettors believing that Stricker will finish higher than Woods will bet $10 to win $15.
Those familiar with sports betting will have no trouble making the transition to European Golf golf wagering, while those new to the world of sports betting should be able to pick up the concepts of European golf betting without to much trouble.
