Here at Bookmaker sportsbook we’re previewing the Perth International, which takes place from February 25th through February 28th, 2016 at Lake Karrinyup Country Club in Perth, Australia, featuring Louis Oosthuizen, Thorbjørn Olesen, Jin Jeong and Bo Van Pelt.
The Perth International tournament returns to the European Tour in 2016 at this year’s tournament, which takes place from February 25th through February 28th, 2016 at Lake Karrinyup Country Club in Perth, Australia. Among the early commits is World No. 18 Louis Oosthuizen and he could be among the favorites.
The Perth International was first held in 2012 with Bo Van Pelt winning the inaugural event. The tournament was not held in 2015, but returns this year and has been moved from October to February in 2016. Van Pelt has registered five professional wins in his career with his most recent coming at this very event in 2012. He also won the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee in 2009, his only PGA Tour victory of his career.
Louis Oosthuizen is the first big name to commit to the 2016 Perth International. The World No. 18 has captured 12 wins in his career including one major championship. Oosthuizen won The Open Championship in 2010 with a score of 16-under 272. He defeated Lee Westwood by seven strokes. In addition to his victory in 2010, he has finished as the runner-up at two more major championship events including the 2012 Masters and The Open Championship last year. Oosthuizen captured back-to-back wins at the Volvo Golf Champions in 2013 and 2014 and his 2014 victory marked his most recent career win.
Other former champions at this event include Jin Jeong, who was the 2013 champion, and Thorbjørn Olesen, who won in 2014. Olesen currently hold the record at the Perth International for the lowest score after shooting a 17-under in 2014 and defeating Victor Dubuisson by three strokes. Olesen has won eight professional tournaments in his career with his most recent victory coming last October at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship where he shot an 18-under 270 and defeated Brooks Koepka and Chris Stroud by two strokes. The 26-year-old has captured three of his eight wins on the European Tour. This tournament, in its fourth installment in 2016, is sanctioned by the European and Asian tours as well as the PGA Tour of Australasia in golf odds.

How to bet on Perth International
The odds of a golfer to win the Perth International will generally look something like:
Tiger Woods + 150
Phil Mickelson + 250
Steve Stricker + 300
Jeff Overton + 700
Ernie Els + 700
Field + 600
These betting odds will be lower when betting on a golfer to finish in the top three, as the sportsbook must pay off three different winning bets.
A player would have to bet $10 to win $150 that Tiger Woods will win the Perth International, while the bettor wagering on Jeff Overton stands to win $70 on their $10 wager.
Another commonly placed bet in European Golf golf is head-to-head finish between two players. With this bet, a player doesn't really care what place the golfer finishes in, as long as the golfer wagered on finishes higher than the other golfer.
A head-to-head betting line for the Perth International will look something like:
Tiger Woods - 190 Steve Stricker + 150In this bet, players wagering on Woods to finish higher than Stricker will be asked to risk $19 to win $10, while bettors believing that Stricker will finish higher than Woods will bet $10 to win $15.
Those familiar with sports betting will have no trouble making the transition to European Golf golf wagering, while those new to the world of sports betting should be able to pick up the concepts of European golf betting without to much trouble.
