European Tour Golf Betting Odds: The country of Turkey doesn't get a lot of publicity when it comes to the sport of golf, but the Turkish Airlines Open is an incredibly event on the European PGA Tour which comes with a tremendous prize pool of $7 million. The event is always a part of the European Tour Final Series which will crown a grand winner ending at the DP World Tour Championship.
All of the action at the Turkish Airlines Open will take place from Thursday, November 2 through Sunday, November 5, 2017.

Course Length: 7,186 yards
Defending Champion: Thorbjorn Olesen

The Turkish Airlines Open has only been around since 2013, and the tournament has was played at the Carya Golf Club for the first time in 2016. Instead, the event was held at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal previously.
With the huge prize pool and the fact that this is the first tournament in the Final Series, all of the top golfers will be present in Turkey for sure, as well as a few local golfers who won entry via local tournaments.
This is the second to last tournament before the DP World Tour Championship Dubai, and in order to qualify for that event, golfers must be in the Top 60 in the "Race to Dubai." Anyone who needs to make a move will have an opportunity to do so at the Turkish Airlines Open.

The history here at the Turkish Airlines Open certainly doesn't tell us much, knowing that there have only been four tournaments held here in Turkey historically. That said, with the course switching to Antalya at the Carya Golf Club, that could open up an entirely new can of worms. Just because Victor Dubuisson won this event in both 2013 and 2015 doesn't mean that he's going to compete this year, especially with the new course in play.
The only man with a win at Carya Golf Club is now Thorbjorn Olesen, and he ran away from the field at the Turkish Airlines Open last year, winning by three strokes en route to his -20 effort.

There's no doubt that Dubuisson is the top golfer ever at the Turkish Airlines Open, and that really comes out of nowhere considering the fact that he only has three professional wins in his career and has finished in the Top 10 of majors just twice in his career and has never finished in the Top 5 of any major.
American Brooks Koepka and 2016 winner, Thorbjorn Olesen are the only other winners of the Turkish Airlines Open.

It shouldn't be all that surprising that Dubuisson has the top two scores to par ever posted in the Turkish Airlines Open as well. Jamie Donaldson also shot a -22, 266 in 2013 in the inaugural Turkish Airlines Open, but that number was second best to Dubuisson. The Frenchman then turned a -22 once again as the winner of the event in 2015.
Dubuisson also holds the aggregate tournament record at 264, though that margin was matched last year by Olesen, albeit at a different course with a different mark to make for par.
How to bet on Turkish Open
The odds of a golfer to win the Turkish Open will generally look something like:
- Tiger Woods + 150
- Phil Mickelson + 250
- Steve Stricker + 300
- Jeff Overton + 700
- Ernie Els + 700
- Field + 600
These betting odds will be lower when betting on a golfer to finish in the top three, as the sportsbook must pay off three different winning bets.
A player would have to bet $10 to win $150 that Tiger Woods will win the Turkish Open, while the bettor wagering on Jeff Overton stands to win $70 on their $10 wager.
Another commonly placed bet in European Golf golf is head-to-head finish between two players. With this bet, a player doesn't really care what place the golfer finishes in, as long as the golfer wagered on finishes higher than the other golfer.
A head-to-head betting line for the Turkish Open will look something like:
- Tiger Woods - 190 Steve Stricker + 150
In this bet, players wagering on Woods to finish higher than Stricker will be asked to risk $19 to win $10, while bettors believing that Stricker will finish higher than Woods will bet $10 to win $15.
Those familiar with sports betting will have no trouble making the transition to European Golf golf wagering, while those new to the world of sports betting should be able to pick up the concepts of European golf betting without to much trouble.
