European Tour Golf Betting Odds: If you’re looking for the best advice for golf gambling, you’ve certainly come to the right place. Here at Bookmaker sportsbook we’re previewing the Volvo China Open, which takes place from April 28th through May 1st, 2016 at Topwin Golf and Country Club in Beijing, China, featuring Wu Ashun, Alexander Lévy, Brett Rumford and Branden Grace.
Chinese golfer Wu Ashun captured his very first European Tour win at last year’s Volvo China Open and will return as the defending champion at this year’s event which takes place from April 28th through May 1st, 2016 at Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Course in Shanghai, China.
Considering his success at the 2015 tournament, Ashun could be among those favored in golf gambling.
Wu Ashun shot a 9-under 279 and defeated runner-up David Howell by one stroke to capture the 2015 Volvo China Open title. It was his third professional win of his career, having also won two previous events on the Japan Golf Tour in 2012 and 2013. With his win last year, Ashun became the first Chinese golfer to win the Volvo China Open since 2003. His first win of his career came in 2012, at the Toshin Golf Tournament in Ryosen where he finished at 18-under and defeated Yuta Ikeda in a playoff. Ashun also won the 2013 Heiwa PGM Championship.
Other past champions at the Volvo China Open include Frenchman Alexander Lévy, Australian golfer Brett Rumford and Branden Grace of South Africa. Lévy won with a19-under 269 in 2014, defeating the field by four strokes. The win was a special one for the young golfer, marking his first professional win of his career. Lévy also went on to win the Portugal Masters on the European Tour in 2014 and he lost in a playoff at the BMW Masters that year. Lévy, 25, will be hungry for another win in 2016 and Beijing could be just the place. Rumford was the 2013 Volvo China Open, winning with a score of 16-under. The 38-year-old has captured eight professional wins in his career including five on the European Tour. His win here to years ago marks his most recent victory of his career. He also won Ballantine's Championship, a co-sanctioned event on the European and Asian tours, in 2013. Grace finished at 21-under 267 to win the Volvo China Open in 2012. He is off to a strong start so far in 2016, having already won the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters in January where he shot a 14-under to defend his title. Grace is in third place currently in the Race to Dubai rankings. He has captured seven European Tour wins in his career and 10 victories overall in his career. The 27-year-old has never won a major championship, but placed inside the Top 5 at the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship last year.
Nicolas Colsaerts hold the record at this event with the lowest score. He won with a 24-under 264 in 2011. The 2016 has not yet been set for the 2016 Volvo China Open in golf gambling.

How to bet on Volvo China Open
The odds of a golfer to win the Volvo China Open will generally look something like:
- Tiger Woods + 150
- Phil Mickelson + 250
- Steve Stricker + 300
- Jeff Overton + 700
- Ernie Els + 700
- Field + 600
These betting odds will be lower when betting on a golfer to finish in the top three, as the sportsbook must pay off three different winning bets.
A player would have to bet $10 to win $150 that Tiger Woods will win the Volvo China Open, while the bettor wagering on Jeff Overton stands to win $70 on their $10 wager.
Another commonly placed bet in European Golf golf is head-to-head finish between two players. With this bet, a player doesn't really care what place the golfer finishes in, as long as the golfer wagered on finishes higher than the other golfer.
A head-to-head betting line for the Volvo China Open will look something like:
- Tiger Woods - 190 Steve Stricker + 150
In this bet, players wagering on Woods to finish higher than Stricker will be asked to risk $19 to win $10, while bettors believing that Stricker will finish higher than Woods will bet $10 to win $15.
Those familiar with sports betting will have no trouble making the transition to European Golf golf wagering, while those new to the world of sports betting should be able to pick up the concepts of European golf betting without to much trouble.
