Clemson (11-2) continues to surprise experts and gamblers, providing some of the best value on the college basketball board. The Tigers have covered six of its last eight games, although it is coming off a 95-82 loss at Miami. The Tigers rank 13th in the nation for 3-point shooting. Center PJ Hall leads Clemson with 20.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
North Carolina (10-3) has shown improved value with three consecutive payouts. While Carolina ranks 22nd for scoring offense, they rank a worrisome 199th for points allowed. Guard RJ Davis leads UNC with 21.1 points per game. Still, Carolina will get a more favorable price as the quality road team and is in good recent form.
Florida (10-3) hosts Kentucky at the Stephen C O’Connell Center. Tipoff time is 12:30 p.m. ET, with television coverage on ESPN. The Gators have covered three straight games but remain in the red at 5-7-1 against the spread. Florida is half a team with rankings of 12th for scoring offense but 250th for points allowed. Florida has five players averaging in double figures for scoring.
Kentucky (10-2) has caught fire to become one of the hottest teams on the board. UK has covered six of its last seven outings. The Wildcats have impressive wins over North Carolina and Miami. The Wildcats rank 4th for scoring offense but 240th for points allowed. Guard Antonio Reeves leads UK with 19.0 points per game. Wildcats are averaging double figures.
Kentucky will offer more value as a #6 ranked road team.
At 2 p.m. ET, Arkansas hosts Auburn at Bud Walton Arena with television coverage on ESPN2.
Arkansas (9-4) has covered only four times. The Hogs rank an abysmal 300th in the nation for points allowed.
Auburn (11-2) has lost only one of its last six games to the spread. Coach Bruce Pearl brings a more balanced team in this matchup with rankings of 23rd for scoring offense and 91st for points allowed. Forward Johni Broome leads Auburn with 15.8 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest.
Arkansas’ defense is a poor matchup for Auburn, who will get a price break on the road.
At 6 p.m. ET, Tennessee hosts Ole Miss at Thompson Boling Arena with television coverage on SEC Network.
Tennessee (10-3) has been a poor value, with only one payout in its last nine games. As usual, the Vols emphasize defense and rank 40th for points allowed.
Ole Miss (13-0) is a team to watch. That is because Chris Beard is the new head coach. As expected, Beard is having an immediate impact. Ole Miss has hot dice with seven payouts in its last eight games. Guard Matthew Murrell leads Ole Miss with 17.0 points per game. Guard Allen Flanigan adds 16.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.
