My streak of cashing in on Wednesday night parlay picks came to a halt last week after logging a 1-2 ATS record. Alabama proved to be ripe for a loss and the Tennessee Volunteers handed it to them after taking the Crimson Tide down 68-59 as 3-point favorites. Unfortunately, that ticket cash would be the only one of the night at the online sportsbook. Marquette proved to have a much tougher time of it against an undermanned Xavier club never once getting in position to cover the 6.5-point spread in the slim 69-68 win to even up the season rivalry with the Musketeers. The night closed out with a bothersome loss on Arkansas who seemed to be in control a bulk of the game at Texas A&M, but when the rubber met the road late in the second half the Aggies proved to be too much. Here’s to getting back in the black with a trio of investments to target for your Wednesday night parlay cards!

Providence Friars
If the Providence Friars are to have any shot of sharing the Big East regular season title with Marquette, this trek to Storrs must be won against a UConn Huskies squad Ed Cooley’s kids took down 73-61 as 5.5-point home dogs way back on January 4. With only four games remaining on the regular season docket and the Golden Eagles set to invade Creighton Tuesday night, the opportunity will be there to run down Shaka Smart’s squad should it fall to the Bluejays. If it does, it would mean Bryce Hopkins and Co. would take home bragging rights for the second straight year!
While improved since the first run-in, Providence is going to be catching upwards of 8-points in the rematch. Though just 5-5 SU on the road to date, the Friars have still gone on to cover seven of those games against the closing college basketball betting odds. Providence is also 3-1 SU and ATS the last four times it ran with the Huskies. Though both squads shot horrifically from the field in the first meeting, the Friars got the job done by getting to the line 35 times and converting 29 times. UConn still fouls at an asinine clip (No. 324) while Providence is still great at getting to the stripe (No. 37) and converting when it gets there (No. 68). I expect that trend to play another prominent role in the rematch that allows the visitors to keep it close and possibly sweep the rivalry.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
In defeating hated rival North Carolina on Sunday, the NC State Wolfpack remains comfortably within the Field of 68. Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology forecast currently has Terquavion Smith and his mates installed the 8-seed in the South Region. The same can’t and won’t be said of Wake Forest who currently sit on the outside looking in and badly need a quadrant 1 win over a team like the Wolfpack to get their Big Dance hopes off life support.
NCST doesn’t have much of a shot of winning the ACC regular season title. At best, it can overtake the Clemson Tigers for the fourth seed and the bye that comes with it in the upcoming conference tournament. That has me wondering whether all of their attention will go towards Tyree Appleby and not the following game that just so happens to have Brad Brownell’s squad coming into PNC Arena Saturday afternoon. The Deacs dropped a tough 79-77 decision to the Wolfpack as 3-point home favorites when the rivals matched wits at the end of January. It played nearly even on the glass and shot 43 percent from the field, but allowed the Wolfpack to drain eight of 17 from beyond the arc. It’ll be catching a couple possessions in the rematch. With that, I’ll be looking to take those points and hope the Demon Deacons don’t get trounced in the battle of the boards and can return the favor of getting hot from downtown.
New Mexico Lobos
Rounding out the trio of road dogs on Hump Day night will be the Lobos of New Mexico. Like Wake Forest, Richard Pitino’s kids now find themselves looking into the Field of 68 needing a huge quadrant 1 win to light a fire under the team’s collective underbelly. It’s in this position due to falling flat a few weeks back against Utah State on the road and Nevada at home. Those two losses knocked them out of contention for Mountain West regular season bragging rights. Because of it, the losing streak continued after dropping a pair of horrific decisions to Air Force as 5.5-point road favorites and Wyoming as decided 9-point home favorites.
They did however just bounce back by letting some frustration out upon San Jose State whom they dropped a 96-point burger on to snap the 4-game losing streak. While Boise State remains in the thick of the MWC title race sitting two-games in back of front running San Diego State, it hasn’t covered a game since the end of January and will enter this tilt off an escape against UNLV who it went off the board favored to beat by 7.5-points. These teams played to a thrilling 81-79 decision won in overtime by the Lobos back on January 20. UNM caught 2.5-points in that matchup, and will be catching 5-6 points in the rematch. Playing for their March Madness lives, I expect Jaelen House and Jamal Mashburn Jr. to put their best foot forward and give the Broncos another scare on their home floor.
