Connecticut at Marquette NCAA Parlay Picks

Big East betting action highlights Saturday night’s College Basketball parlay picks with a Top-25 showdown from the Fiserv Forum, where the Marquette Golden Eagles aim for their tenth conference win against the two-time defending national champion Connecticut Huskies. Dan Hurley’s troops scored a huge comeback win Wednesday night, storming back from an eight point halftime deficit to score the 72-61 win against DePaul. Currently tied atop the Big East standings with St. John’s, Shaka Smart’s kids rattled off a third straight win and college basketball odds cover Tuesday night disposing of Butler 78-69 as 8.5-point road chalk. Provided Liam McNeeley remains sidelined with an ankle injury, Marquette will be laying upwards of six points in this first of two regular season meetings with the total in the low 140s at the crypto sportsbook.

Connecticut Huskies

The Huskies proved to be the gift that kept on giving for college hoops fans attacking the CBB betting lines a season ago. Along with securing a second straight title, Connecticut posted an impressive 20-11 regular season record against the spread (ATS) and capped it off by covering every single game on their way to cutting down the nets. The story has been much different this year. Injuries are largely to blame with McNeeley’s 13.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game out of the mix since January 1. Since then, Alex Karaban has stepped up as the team’s leading scorer (15.4 PPG), but the end results have been mixed. The Huskies stand 4-3 straight up (SU) with their frosh sensation sidelined, but they’ve gone a bankroll killing 1-6 ATS during that stretch. McNeeley was a game-time decision Wednesday night but ultimately didn’t play. If able to return Saturday, his presence will put a jolt in the team at both ends of the court.

Marquette Golden Eagles

Tuesday’s comeback win in the Hinkle Fieldhouse was arguably the most impressive of the college basketball betting season for the No. 9 ranked Golden Eagles. Leading scorer and team leader Kam Jones was saddled with foul trouble early in the second half, but the team rose up and still managed to battle back from a seven point halftime deficit to tally the 78-69 win and cover. Stevie Mitchell stepped up in Jones’ stead leading the team with 22 points on 9 of 14 shooting. He’s one of four double-digit scorers for an offense that ranks out as KenPom’s No. 25 adjusted offensive efficiency that averages 79+ points per game (No. 71). Most impressive has been the unit’s ability to hold onto the basketball with it turning it over just short of 9.0 times per game (No. 2). If the Golden Eagles were lethal from long range (No. 238), I’d seriously consider adding a few shares into my March Madness betting portfolio.

Connecticut at Marquette Same Game Parlay Picks

You have to go all the way back to 2013 to find the last time Marquette laid points to Connecticut on the hardwood. Even more bothersome, the Golden Eagles have only toppled the Huskies twice in the last 10 meetings, and stand 3-5 both SU and ATS the only eight times they hosted the rivalry. That being said, I expect Jones and company to break through tonight, snapping a three-game losing streak in the rivalry and making a statement as the team to beat in the Big East.

Even if McNeeley makes his long-awaited return to the lineup, rust and fatigue will play a role. Marquette has had this game circled on their calendar for quite some time, and I fully expect Smart’s troops to rise to the occasion and defend their house. The Huskies porous defense and inability to not commit fouls (#343) will ultimately come back to bite them in this enticing spot at home for the Golden Eagles. There will be a time to get back to riding Connecticut with our parlay picks, but that time won’t be tonight.
