Oklahoma State hosted Texas in early January and came away with one of its conference wins with a 71-68 squeaker. The Cowboys jumped out to a 17-point lead at the half and led by as many as 19 at one point. Texas came storming back after intermission but couldn’t quite pull out the comeback.
The Longhorns couldn’t buy a bucket from downtown, hitting on just nine percent of their three-point attempts. A couple more makes and this would have been a different outcome. Oklahoma State was led by Lindy Waters, who scored 19 points and hit all five of his attempts from three-point range. Kerwin Roach II had 18 points for Texas in a losing effort.
