We’re right in the thick of conference tournament season, and the best conferences in the country will be holding the semifinals or finals of their conference tournament today. The Big Ten and SEC are holding their semifinals on Saturday, while the Big East, Big 12, and ACC will be holding their finals tonight. Very few teams are still playing for a spot in the NCAA Tournament, but today will go a long way to determining teams’ seeds tomorrow.
SEC Semifinals
Auburn -3.5 vs. Florida, O/U 134
Kentucky vs. Tennessee (No Line)
The Florida Gators have punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament with another win over the SEC’s regular season champion (LSU), and now they are hoping to get a single-digit seed. Florida has been better than its record indicates. The Gators may be just 19-14, but they play great defense and are in Ken Pomeroy’s top 30. Auburn has been one of the most underrated teams in the country throughout the year though, and the Tigers know a strong performance here could give them a spot on the No. 4 line.
There is no line yet on the second game, but expect Kentucky to be favored by 1 or 2. The Wildcats and Volunteers split their regular season series, and although the conference tournament is in Tennessee, plenty of Kentucky fans will be pouring across the border to ensure this game has mostly blue in the stands.
Big Ten Semifinals
Michigan State -5 vs. Wisconsin, O/U 130
Michigan vs. Minnesota (No Line)
Minnesota ensured itself of a place in the NCAA Tournament too with a win over Purdue on Friday. The Golden Gophers are now hoping the third time is a charm when they face Michigan. The Wolverines have already defeated Minnesota twice this season, and a third win would place them in the Big Ten Championship Game. Michigan should be favored by 5 to 6 here.
The earlier game already has a line. Michigan State is a moderate favorite over Wisconsin, and the Spartans had little trouble with the Badgers earlier this season. Sparty beat the Badgers in Madison by eight points a little over a month ago.
Big 12 Championship Game
Kansas -3 vs. Iowa State, O/U 130.5
The Jayhawks streak of regular season conference titles has come to an end, but Kansas can win the Big 12 Conference Tournament on Saturday. The Jayhawks were the beneficiary of some upsets as Texas Tech and Kansas State both crashed out of the tournament early, but they were hammered in Ames earlier this year and could only beat the Cyclones by four in Lawrence.
Big East Championship Game
Villanova vs. Seton Hall (No Line)
There were questions regarding whether or not Seton Hall would make the tournament a few days ago, but wins over Georgetown and Marquette have the Pirates comfortably in the field. Seton Hall would love to knock off Villanova in the Big East Championship Game for the second time in four years, but the Wildcats will certainly be favored. I think Nova will be favored by around 3 points despite losing to Seton Hall in New Jersey last Saturday in their regular season finale.
ACC Championship Game
Duke vs. Florida State (No Line)
The Blue Devils were finally able to beat North Carolina when it mattered the most. Zion Williamson took control with 31 points and 11 rebounds in a 74-73 win over North Carolina yesterday, and Duke will likely earn a No. 1 seed with a win in the ACC Championship Game. It won’t be as easy as some believe though. Florida State upset Virginia to get to the final, but Duke needed a late Cam Reddish three to beat the Seminoles earlier in the year. Expect Duke to be favored by 5 to 6.
