It’s been a rough few weeks for the Los Angeles Lakers, who saw their losing skid reach four games with a pasting from the NBA’s best Jazz on Wednesday. Every team hits a rough patch during the course of a season, but the Lakers are experiencing a big time funk and will have to navigate the remainder of the first half without Anthony Davis. The Lakers look to get back on track when they host the Golden State Warriors on Sunday evening.
The contest between the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers takes place at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 28, 2021, from Staples Center in Los Angeles and will air live on ESPN. BookMaker.eu will have odds for every game on the Sunday NBA schedule.

Odds Analysis
Gaining a split of their recent four-game road trip by winning the final two, the Warriors climbed a season-high three games over .500. They finish off the first half of their schedule with another road excursion starting with Sunday’s matchup with the Lakers. It’s been a weird season so far for the Dubs. They matched a season-best winning streak with a 111-107 triumph over Indiana on Wednesday. And they haven’t lost more than two consecutive games, either. The first half of the season will end with seven of the final eight games on the road. The Warriors improved to 7-9 SU and ATS in away games with payouts in New York and Indy to conclude their last trip. At some point the Lakers will have to say enough is enough. They’ve struggled since losing Davis to an injury going 1-5 SU and ATS including the Denver matchup when AD was hurt. Three setbacks during their recent skid came at Staples Center where the Lakers are 9-7 SU and 5-11 ATS.
Golden State Warriors
We knew this year’s edition would be better than the club that won 15 games last season. Their comeback win over Miami two weeks ago was the Dubs’ 16th in their 29th game. They are still far from being a championship contender. Instead just reaching the postseason is the goal. I guess you could say they’ve been consistently inconsistent this season. Heading into Friday’s tilt with Charlotte, they have a chance for a season-long three-game winning streak. To this point they haven’t won or lost more than two consecutive games all season.
The Dubs are 6-3 SU and 5-4 ATS in their last nine games. A sign that maybe they are about to step on the gas. Stephen Curry is pacing the offense scoring 30 points per game, the second-most in the NBA. Curry had 26 points and Kelly Oubre Jr. added 23 to help the Warriors overcome a 14-point fourth quarter deficit and beat the Lakers 115-113 last month in the first meeting between the clubs.
Los Angeles Lakers
The good news is there are just a few games left before the break. The bad news is that there are a few games left before the break. The Lakers are limping toward the All-Star break having stumbled big time without Davis and Dennis Schroeder in the lineup. It’s a bit surprising since the club invested heavily during the offseason to improve their depth. Losing four in a row and five of six isn’t the end of the world. The Lakers built a big cushion by cruising through the early part of their schedule. But it is a concern that they haven’t been more successful during that stretch.
Once the top dog in the Western Conference the Lakers have drifted to the middle of the pack with their recent slide. Even when they were winning games they had a tough time on their home floor. They dropped three straight at Staples with the last two to sub-.500 Miami and Washington. And they went to overtime in three of four home dates prior to that. Overall the Lakers are just 9-7 SU and 5-11 ATS Staples.
NBA Odds Pick
There is some good news on the horizon for the Lakers. Schroeder is getting close to returning from the health and safety protocols and could be in the lineup. Without him and AD, Frank Vogel starting tinkering with rotations in an attempt to find something that works. Getting one of his starters back will help settle things down. And the Lakers have too much talent to keep spinning their wheels. Enough is enough, go Lakers.
NBA Odds Prediction: Lakers 118, Warriors 109
