Turning their road woes around won’t be easy for the Golden State Warriors, who visit the Phoenix Suns for the second time this season. The defending champs lost their first six road games starting with a 134-105 pounding from the Suns back in October and things never really got any better. The Dubs were defeated by Detroit and Orlando among other clubs on a recent road trip that dropped their away slate to 0-6 SU and 1-5 ATS. The Suns return home after a long road trip looking to improve on their 6-1 home ledger that includes four double-digit wins.
The contest between the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns takes place at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from Footprint Center in Phoenix and will air live on ESPN. BookMaker.eu will have odds for every game on the Wednesday NBA schedule.

Odds Analysis
As long as the Warriors don’t have to go on the road they’ll be just fine. And I certainly expect the champs to figure out their issues soon. It is a bit alarming, though, that they failed to win any of their first six away games. Last season the Dubs won nearly 54 percent of their regular season road games and went 5-5 SU and 4-6 ATS in the postseason when it’s supposedly harder to win on the road. At least they’ve been able to stay near .500 by going 5-1 at home. They had just one payout in their first six road games with that coming in New Orleans when most of the regulars sat. The Dubs covered the 11-point line in a 114-105 setback.
A tough road trip precedes this Pacific Division showdown with the Suns finishing against Miami on Monday. A nice start to the season that saw the Suns win seven of their first nine while going 6-3 ATS was tempered slightly with two losses in the first three games of the trip. The defeats weren’t that close losing by 12 in Philly and 17 in Orlando. Still, the Suns enter the week leading the Pacific going 8-4 SU and 7-5 ATS overall. Owners of the best home record in the NBA last season, the Suns are off to another good start going 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS at Footprint Center.
Golden State Warriors
Their play this season has been more inconsistent than anything we’ve seen from them in the past, at least when their stars were all playing. We are starting to see a shift from the old regime to the newer crop of talent and the Warriors will have decisions to make soon with Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole locked into expensive deals. However Stephen Curry isn’t ready to pass the torch. He had back-to-back games of 40 or more points in wins over Sac and Cleveland and averages over 33 points to rank second in the NBA.
Though Klay Thompson has struggled averaging just 14.5 points and shooting 32.3 percent from behind the arc, the offense is still a threat. Wiggins chips in 18.4 points and Poole adds 15.4 with the team averaging 116.3 points. The problem has been on the defensive allowing a NBA high 119 points while placing 26th in defensive rating.
Phoenix Suns
It looks like the Suns are losing the battle to win the war. After posting the best record in the NBA by a wide margin last season and falling to Dallas in the West semifinals, the eye is toward the postseason and having a better showing. That’s a big reason why the club has been cautious handling the Chris Paul injury situation. Paul played only 14 minutes in the loss to Philly and missed the next two games with a sore heel. His status moving forward is unknown but the club said the situation isn’t serious.
Without Paul the offense staggered against the Sixers scoring a season-low 88 points. A few nights later the shots weren’t falling in a 114-97 loss to Orlando. Their two lowest scoring games of the season were for the most part without Paul with the Suns cashing the UNDER in those games. In fact they’ve played below the closing total in five of six games falling short by four points in the Orlando game.
NBA Odds Pick
The Warriors will start winning road games soon and this is a good opportunity to not only show the NBA they aren’t ready to relinquish the throne but also get back at the Suns for that humbling loss earlier in the season. We’ve also seen them play defense at a higher level recently giving me the confidence to back the road team as a likely small underdog.
