Hat tip goes out to the Los Angeles Lakers for finding a way to come up with a win and stop the bleeding last time out in Toronto. That makes it two wins in the last three tries for this injury riddled bunch that’s simply just trying to hold the fort for when Anthony Davis and LeBron James return from injury. As for the Brooklyn Nets, they’re currently tied with the Philadelphia 76ers atop the Eastern Conference standings. It’s only course of action throughout the remainder of the regular season is to put some distance between itself and Philly and fend of “The Greek Freak” and the Milwaukee Bucks in hopes of landing home court advantage throughout the second season. With LA’s superstars still out of commission, online sportsbooks are likely to have the host Nets installed hefty home favorites as it looks to sweep the season rivalry from the defending champs.
This East/West skirmish is set to go down live on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. ET from the Barclays Center. The game will be broadcast live on ABC. We'll have NBA odds available at BookMaker.eu for this and every game on Saturday’s NBA slate.

Odds Analysis
While the Nets own the best record in the Eastern Conference at 35-16 SU heading into Wednesday night’s home tilt against Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans, the outright success hasn’t translated into much overall success for NBA bettors at the betting window. Brooklyn checks in 24-27 against the spread for the year, and sits three-games under .500 (12-15 ATS) in the comforts of the Barclays Center. It’s been real ugly of late as well. Though the team has rattled off eight straight wins in front of its homebased cardboard cutouts, it’s amounted to a bankroll depleting 2-6 ATS tally for those unlucky enough to back them in those matchups. Though the Lake Show invades Miami on Thursday night with stellar 16-8 SU and 13-11 ATS marks for the season, the team checks in just 2-3 SU and ATS in its last five road games since LBJ succumbed to injury. The two wins came against the sub .500 Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings. The three defeats occurred against the Clippers, Suns and Pelicans.
Los Angeles Lakers
If not for the schedule being very kind in recent weeks, Los Angeles would be in a heaping load of trouble. Thankfully it hasn’t and the team is still the rightful owner of the No. 6 seed in the West. Having said that, end results from their last 10 games have them 4-6 SU and 3-7 ATS with each and every one of those wins coming against teams of a losing variety. That trend continued last time out in Toronto where Talen Horton-Tucker spearheaded a potent offensive attack to lead the Lakers to the 110-101 win and cover as short 1-point road favorites. The Lakers shot 49 percent from the field and drained a whopping 18 of 40 3-point attempts. A total of seven players notched double-digits in scoring, but Kyle Kuzma wasn’t one of them. His struggles have continued and LA will need him to finally awaken from the doldrums if the team is to keep fending off the fast charging Trail Blazers, Mavericks and Grizzlies.
Brooklyn Nets
James Harden tried giving it a go in the Nets most recent home game against the New York Knicks. He only managed to see the hardwood for just over four minutes before pulling up lame once again. With Kevin Durant still out of the mix, Julius Randle and company proved to be a major obstacle the rest of the way. If not for Kyrie Irving donning a superman cape and erupting for a game-high 40 points, Brooklyn would’ve found itself on the wrong side of the scoreboard. Regardless, No. 11 did his thing to help lead the Nets to the 114-112 non-covering win as 6.5-point favorites. As great the Nets offense has been all season, the defense still leaves much to be desired. It’s ranked No. 25 in efficiency per the Hollinger Ratings in allowing upwards of 114 points per game (No. 25). Even so, they’re the +212 frontrunners to win the title this season as well as the -145 chalk to represent the East in the finals.
Los Angeles vs. Brooklyn Prediction
When these teams last met back on February 18, the Lakers simply just didn’t have enough in the offensive tank to keep up with the Irving/Harden combo for a full 48 minutes in falling 109-98 as 3-point home favorites; that was with King James healthy. With both he and Davis out of the mix and LA struggling against winning teams in their absence, Brooklyn will surely be laying an inflated number in the rematch. I have no inclination of wagering on this game personally. However, if “The Beard” is once again sidelined due to his balky hamstring, I’d entertain the thought of backing the Lakers plus the points. It’s only a matter of time until this skeleton crew gets the best of a winning team!
