NBA Basketball Odds - Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors Game Preview

NBA Basketball Odds

The Golden State Warriors are widely expected to head into the playoffs as the Western Conference regular season champion, but the Denver Nuggets are still hanging around. Denver could really make things interesting by picking up a head-to-head win over Golden State next time out.

It won’t be easy as the Warriors have the superior firepower and the home court advantage, but the Nuggets have been exceeding expectations all year long. The Nuggets have remained on Golden State’s heels throughout the season and a win here could really make a shot at the No. 1 seed realistic.

This is a huge game when it comes to the playoff seeding and the Warriors will be hard to beat because they figured to be dialed in for this contest in NBA wagering.

This NBA basketball game between the Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors will be held at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California at 10:30 p.m. ET on Friday, March 8th, 2019. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.

Odds Analysis

The Nuggets have a record of 43-21 on the season after a win over the Lakers last time out. The victory broke a rare three-game losing streak for Denver. The Nuggets have been great at home this season but only 15-15 on the road so this will be an uphill battle.

The Warriors have a mark of 44-20 overall, just a game ahead of Denver in the standings. Golden State is only 5-5 in its past 10 games as this season has been more up and down than the team had hoped. Even so, the high-end potential is still there and the Warriors are 23-9 at home this season so they should be able to win this one.

Injury Report

Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson has been listed as questionable for this contest with a knee injury. He has missed the past two games and the team hopes he can return for this pivotal showdown.

Golden State has Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant to lead the way offensively, but Thompson’s elite outside shooting really makes life tough on opposing defenses. Thompson is averaging 22.0 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. He is shooting 47 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from three-point range. Golden State point guard Shaun Livingston is also nicked up as he is dealing with a neck injury, so watch his status as well.

Player To Watch

Jamal Murray -- The Warriors have the clear talent advantage, so Denver’s balance won’t be as effective as it is against regular NBA teams. The Nuggets will need some players to step up, and Murray is a leading candidate. Nikola Jokic is the team’s star, but Murray also helps shoulder a big chunk of the scoring load.

He is averaging 18.3 points per game while adding 5.0 assists. Murray is shooting 43 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from three-point range. If he gets hot from downtown it could help the Nuggets keep this one close in a game that is a high degree of difficulty.

Free NBA ATS Picks

The Nuggets are going to be the underdogs, but they have outpaced projections all year long. Here’s believing they will do so again. The Warriors are the pick to win this matchup, but Denver is the right choice against the spread.

The “under” could be the right pick as Denver plays solid defense in NBA betting lines.

NBA ATS Pick: Golden State Warriors 117, Denver Nuggets 110
