NBA Basketball Odds - Milwaukee Bucks vs. Detroit Pistons Series Preview

NBA Basketball Odds

The Milwaukee Bucks put together a phenomenal regular season, surprising nearly everyone by finishing with the best record in the NBA. The expectations have steadily increased this season and now the hope is to take this magical season all the way to the NBA Finals.

Milwaukee is the favorite to win the East and will begin its postseason push with a matchup against the Detroit Pistons in the first round. The Pistons held on to the No. 8 seed by winning their regular season finale but will be a big underdog in this series.

Detroit has been a mediocre team all year long and it would take a huge turn of events for this series to even be a reasonably competitive one in NBA gambling.

This NBA basketball series between the Milwaukee Bucks and Detroit Pistons will be held at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The games will be nationally televised.

Odds Analysis

The Pistons finished the season with a record of 41-41. They hit a late-season lull to put their playoff berth in jeopardy, but ended with two straight wins to hold off the Charlotte Hornets. Detroit was 11 games over .500 at home this year and 11 games under .500 on the road.

The Milwaukee Bucks finished the year 60-22, the only team in the NBA to reach 60 wins this season. Milwaukee cruised to the best record in the league and now hopes to continue that success in the postseason. The Bucks finished 33-8 at home and 27-14 on the road.

Injury Report

Pistons star forward Blake Griffin did not play in the season finale with a sore knee. The injury clearly has to be a pretty serious one because Detroit was fighting for its playoff life and yet Griffin was still not able to play. Keep a close eye on this injury.

The Bucks are going to be the heavy favorites either way, but the Pistons will have virtually no chance of pulling out the upset if they don’t have their best player for some or all of the series. Griffin is averaging 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game on the year.
Season Series

The Pistons and Bucks met four times in the regular season and Milwaukee swept them all. The first meeting came on Dec. 5 in Milwaukee and the Bucks cruised to a 115-92 win behind 27 points from Eric Bledsoe.

The next matchup came 12 days later and this one was much closer, but the Pistons were unable to steal the win as they fell 107-104 at home. The third matchup came on New Year’s Day and the Bucks got back to their dominant ways with a 121-98 win. Milwaukee wrapped up the dominant head-to-head showing by picking up a 115-105 win on January 21 as Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 21 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds.

If Griffin can play, maybe the Pistons can grab one win at home. However, this is going to be a lopsided series. The Bucks will need to prove their worth in the next couple of rounds, but they should have no trouble cruising to the victory over Detroit.

Milwaukee should get to four wins quickly and move on to the Eastern Conference semifinals in NBA odds.
