The Pistons have lost four straight games to allow the Hornets and Heat to pull within one game of them in the standings. The Cavaliers should pay off well to pull the upset and they are the pick to play spoiler in this one.
The Miami Heat was hanging on to the No. 8 seed for much of the final stretch but four straight losses has them in dire straits. Miami hosts the Philadelphia 76ers in a game that could decide its season. The good thing for the Heat is that Philly is locked into the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference and doesn’t have a ton of motivation in this one. Look for the Heat to stay alive by winning this game at home and covering the spread in the process.
One of the most high-profile games of the day will feature the Houston Rockets against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Houston is taking aim at Denver for the No. 3 seed in the West, while OKC is hoping to win this one to avoid the No. 8 seed and a first-round matchup with the Warriors. The Thunder is at home and should be able to pick up a close win, but Houston is the pick to cover as it could come down to the final seconds.
