The Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics haven’t dominated the competition this year like expected, but there is no question they are two of the NBA’s elite teams. It wouldn’t be a surprise at all if these teams navigated their respective conferences and met in the NBA Finals. A possible preview of that could come this week when the defending champion Warriors hit the road to face the Celtics.
Golden State has found its groove of late as it has shook off some injuries and inconsistency to move back atop the West. Boston is still floundering in the middle of the pack in the East but has the talent to go on a big-time run.
This should be a fantastic matchup. The Warriors are the superior team but the Celtics have the home court, which could allow this one to come down to the wire in NBA gambling.
This NBA basketball game between the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics will be held at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts at 8:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 26th, 2019. The game will be nationally televised on ABC.

Odds Analysis
Golden State has a record of 33-14 on the season. It has been really strong lately with nine wins in its past 10 games, including eight in a row. The Warriors started the season slowly on the road but are up to 15-8 on the year in hostile environments. When Golden State is playing well it can win anywhere.
The Celtics have a mark of 30-18 on the year. They have reeled off five consecutive victories to help close the gap on the four teams ahead of them in the Eastern Conference standings. Boston has only been so-so on the road but has a solid chance of winning this game because it is at home. The Celtics are an impressive 19-5 at home this season.
Matchup To Watch
Kyrie Irving vs. Steph Curry -- Two of the premier point guards will face off in this one. Even though they are in different conferences, Irving and Curry have experience against each other as they have met in the NBA Finals multiple times.
Irving is having a really good year for the Celtics. He is averaging 23.5 points and 6.9 assists per game on the season, both of which lead the team. Irving is shooting 50.1 percent from the field and 41.3 percent from three-point range. The Warriors have a bunch of firepower so Irving needs to excel.
Curry is averaging 29.3 points, 5.6 assists and 5.2 rebounds on the season. He is playing like an MVP candidate as Curry’s efficiency has been off the charts. He is shooting 48.8 percent from the field and 44.8 percent from three-point range.
Key Stat
6.2. That’s the Celtics’ positive point-differential on the year, which is a good sign moving forward. It is the second-best figure in the East and third-best in the NBA, not far behind the Warriors. Boston has lost some close games but overall this team is very good and even against Golden State has a chance to win.
The Celtics have finally been turning it on of late and it would not be a surprise to see it finish among the top few seeds in the Eastern Conference when all is said and done after the regular season.
Free NBA ATS Picks
The Warriors have a great team but they are going on the road against an opponent with great depth. Golden State is going to underperform in this one, which will allow the Celtics to take control and come away with the win. If the Warriors are posited as the favorite, Boston is a fine choice on the moneyline as a win would pay off nicely in NBA gambling.
NBA ATS Pick: Boston Celtics 121, Golden State Warriors 114
