The Brooklyn Nets may not be a playoff team but that does not take away from the fact that they are highly profitable. Brooklyn will be hosting a Dallas Mavericks team that is in one of their worst stretches of the season. The San Antonio Spurs are trying to chase down the Houston Rockets for the top spot in the Southwest Division. The slumping Spurs face a Denver Nuggets team that drops a notch on the road. Few teams in any sport are as profitable as the Milwaukee Bucks. And Milwaukee could likely make even more Bucks at a terrible Phoenix Suns team. The Los Angeles Clippers are also an attractive proposition at a free falling and overrated Los Angeles Lakers team.
Dallas Mavericks vs. Brooklyn Nets, 7:30 p.m. ET. NBATV
When it comes to betting value with the Brooklyn Nets there is more than what meets the eye. Brooklyn is in the black for the season and has covered the spread in four of their last five games. Balanced against that is the terrible betting value shown by the Dallas Mavericks in which they have covered just one of their last six games. Brooklyn has had the edge in this series with five payouts in their last eight games against the Mavericks.
Denver Nuggets vs. San Antonio Spurs, 8:30 p.m. ET
San Antonio has been one of the most profitable teams on the NBA board as a home team with a mark of 18-11 against the spread. Offsetting that is that the Spurs have lost nine of their last ten games on the board. But Denver has been a terrible road bet with just 11 payouts in their last 29 in that role. Most important of all Denver has drowned gamblers in red ink when playing at San Antonio. In fact, the Spurs have come away with the cash in five of their last six home games with the Nuggets. DeMar DeRozan has proven to be a good acquisition for the Spurs with 21.6 points and 5.1 assists per game. LaMarcus Aldridge is also a key asset with 20.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per outing. San Antonio ranks fourth in the NBA for field goal percentage.
Milwaukee Bucks vs. Phoenix Suns, 9 p.m. ET
Milwaukee has been one of the most profitable teams on the board in any sport and has lost just 10 out of 30 road games against the spread. The Bucks are in good form with seven payouts in their last ten games. The Phoenix Suns are one of the worst teams in the NBA and have also been deep in the red this season. Recently, Phoenix has failed to get the money in six of their last nine games. Milwaukee has covered four consecutive games at Phoenix. Giannis Antetokounmpo is “The Franchise” for Milwaukee with 27 points and 12.6 rebounds per game. Giannis has sparked the Bucks to rank second in the NBA for scoring offense and is so great he had an All-Star team named after him last month.
Los Angeles Clippers vs. Los Angeles Lakers, 10:30 p.m. ET, NBATV
The Lakers are in free fall with just 11 payouts in their 39 home games this season and only one cover against the spread in their last five matchups overall. The Clippers on the other hand have paid in five of their last eight games and are in the black on the road this year. The Clippers have covered their last three away games against the Lakers. LeBron James’ arrival was met with a considerable amount of hype and has failed to deliver. James has come off as arrogant and standoffish with teammates and full of himself in public.
