NBA Friday, February 24 Parlay Picks

NBA Friday, February 24 Parlay Picks

The unofficial second half of the NBA season starts Thursday with the rest of the league in action Friday, February 24 giving bettors the opportunity to get back in the swing of things. We saw a flurry of activity around the trade deadline and teams are set for a final push to the end of the regular season with a little over 20 games remaining for most clubs. The races in both conferences are tight with most of the excitement coming for the play-in spots. At this point it’s safe to say two teams in each conference are out of the fray with Houston and San Antonio in the West and Detroit and Charlotte in the East having no more than 17 wins. That means games take on added importance, especially for the teams currently outside the top-10. Before we throw down on a NBA parlay we need to know what teams are playing on Friday.

NBA Parlay Picks for February 24, 2023

Miami Heat at Milwaukee Bucks

There is no team hotter than the Bucks, who have won 12 straight and haven’t tasted defeat in over a month. Still, they find themselves trailing Boston for the top spot in the East and have to move forward without Giannis Antetokounmpo, who sustained a wrist injury in the game prior to the All-Star break. The good news is that the Bucks aren’t overly concerned with getting the top seed rather they want to be healthy for a deep playoff run. The injury isn’t considered serious and you can expect the Bucks to be cautious with the Freak’s return. On the short list of MVP candidates, Giannis is averaging 31.8 points, 12.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists. A poor road record has prevented Miami from reaching a top-six in the East, though they are just a half-game behind the Knicks. And the Heat took two of three earlier meetings. It’s hard to trust Miami’s inconsistent play, but going against the Giannis-less Bucks is what allows them to cover the spread in this matchup.

Sacramento Kings at LA Clippers

The Kings are a good story hanging around the top of the West winning 56 percent of their games. They are being chased by the Clippers, who overhauled their roster at the deadline and could have Russell Westbrook in the lineup for Friday’s showdown. The Clips won both games ahead of the All-Star break after adding Eric Gordon, Bones Hyland and Mason Plumlee. “The new guys came in and just plugged right in as if we started the season,” Paul George said. The new additions, along with a healthy George and Kawhi Leonard, sparked what had been a stagnant offense. The Clips dropped 134 on the Warriors and followed with an impressive 116-107 win in Phoenix ahead of the break. They also get a Sacramento team on the second of a back to back after the Kings played host to Portland on Thursday. Rested after the break I have confidence the new-look Clippers get the job done.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Atlanta Hawks

After several days off for the All-Star break you wouldn’t think fatigue would be a factor. The Cavs head to Atlanta for a date with the Hawks after battling West leading Denver on Thursday. And the Hawks need as many wins as they can get with a slim hold on the eighth spot in the East. As dominant as Cleveland has been at home, they are only 13-17 on the road. If I had to take a side I’d probably go with the homestanding Hawks, but playing the OVER looks like a better play. The Hawks yielded 122 points to the Knicks and 144 points to Charlotte, teams not known for their scoring prowess, ahead of the break. And they’ve cashed the OVER in 56 percent of their games. With Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland each averaging over 20 points, the Cavs boast an efficient offense that ranks among the top-5 in field goal percentage. The OVER looks like a good bet on the parlay card.
