NBA Friday Opening Line Report

What are you doing this Friday night? There is a jampacked slate of NBA games with some of the best teams in the league in action and interesting storylines all around, so you need to be either sitting at home and watching on NBA League Pass or following along on your phone before March Madness takes hold of the basketball community for the next few weeks.

NBA Opening Lines at BookMaker.eu

Los Angeles Lakers at Detroit Pistons (DET -8, O/U 220.5)

Just a couple weeks ago, there’s no way the Pistons would have been favored by eight points here. However, it’s clear that the Lakers have packed it in, and it’s unlikely they play most of their starters big minutes after Kyle Kuzma, LeBron James, and Rajon Rondo all played 30 minutes in Toronto last night. There’s a good chance that either James or Kuzma sit out due to rest too.

Meanwhile, Detroit has won 12 of its last 16, and the Pistons are out to staunch the bleeding after getting blown out on the road on Monday and Wednesday. This has the makings of a Pistons blowout.

Sacramento Kings at Philadelphia 76ers (PHI -9.5, O/U 233)

This is Sacramento’s last hurrah. The Kings are in ninth place in the Western Conference and are fading fast. They have lost seven of their last 10, and their defense has failed them on their East Coast road trip so far. Sacramento gave up more than 120 points to both Washington and Boston, and Philadelphia will be out to make it three in arrow.

Philadelphia is 27-9 at home this season and hasn’t lost a home game to a non-playoff team since falling to Atlanta on January 11.

Charlotte Hornets at Washington Wizards (WAS -3, O/U 232)

The Wizards are running out of steam in their bid to pass three teams in the Southeast Division, but they do have one thing going for them tonight. Washington continues to be lights out at home, and it’s hard to not like them at home when they have a 21-12 record in Capital One Arena.

Phoenix Suns at Houston Rockets (HOU -13, O/U 224.5)

After having their losing streak snapped by Golden State, Houston Rockets is anxious to start a new one. The Rockets are the biggest favorite of the day against a bad Phoenix team, but the Suns have shown signs of life. They have won five of their last eight and in that stretch knocked off both Milwaukee and Golden State.

Portland Trail Blazers at New Orleans Pelicans (POR -8, O/U 235)

How much Anthony Davis will we see here? The probable answer is not much. Ownership continues to freeze out The Brow, and he has been on the court for less than a half in 13 straight games for the Pelicans. That has affected their ability to win, and their lines, and makes Portland a considerable favorite in what would otherwise be a tricky game.

Milwaukee Bucks at Miami Heat (MIL -5, O/U 219.5)

Do you think the South Beach effect has something to do with this line? I do. The Heat are one of the few teams in the league with a better road record than home record, but the Bucks are only five point favorites despite having the best record in the league. Something seems a bit off here just looking at the numbers, and that’s my guess.

New York Knicks at San Antonio Spurs (SAS -13, O/U 215.5)

If you’re into parlaying moneylines for a little extra juice, this is the safest play of the day. The Knicks are not going to stop tanking when they are close to securing the most ping pong balls in the draft, and these are games the Spurs don’t lose. San Antonio Spurs is looking to tie the all-time record with 22 straight playoff appearances, and the odds of them losing at home are slim and none.

Chicago Bulls at Los Angeles Clippers (LAC -8.5, O/U 228.5)

The Bulls are one of those teams that has played better on the road than they have at home, but they are 5-20 against the Western Conference this season.
