NBA Odds - No. 6 New Orleans Pelicans vs No. 2 Golden State Warriors Game 5 Preview

2018-NBA-Pelicans-vs-Warriors-Bets-Online

The Golden State Warriors are clicking on all cylinders once again, as an easy win over the New Orleans Pelicans last time out has them on the precipice of advancing to the Western Conference Finals. Golden State returns home for Game 5 of this second round series where it will aim to come away with the win and wrap up this series victory.

The Warriors are at full strength with Steph Curry back in the field and looked pretty much unstoppable in Game 4. The task will be even harder next time out for the Pelicans, who must hit the road and try to somehow pull off the upset.

The Warriors are heading into this game as heavy favorites to take care of business and send the Pelicans home for the summer in NBA basketball betting.

Game 5 of this NBA Playoff Series is on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 10:30 p.m. ET at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. The contest will be nationally televised on TNT.

We'll have NBA odds at BookMaker.eu available for every game of the 2018 NBA Playoffs.

Odds Analysis

The Warriors are listed as 12-point favorites to capture Game 5. The betting public is on board with Golden State, as it is getting 55 percent of the action to cover.

The scoring total for this game is set at 228 points, which is a high number but several points lower than Games 3 and 4. New Orleans needs to keep this game competitive for the “over” to hit as the scoring can slow late in blowouts. The “under” is getting about 90 percent of the action.

The Warriors are listed as heavy -1100 favorites on the moneyline, while New Orleans is the +711 underdog to pull off this upset and force a Game 6 back at home.

Last Time Out

The Warriors got out front early and as the game wore on, only picked up steam as New Orleans ran out of gas. Behind 38 points from Kevin Durant, Golden State defeated the Pelicans 118-92 in Game 4.

Golden State led by 15 after the first quarter, but New Orleans cut it seven by halftime. The Warriors were the much better team in the second half, however, pushing the lead to double-digits in the third quarter and holding strong in the fourth.

Anthony Davis had 26 points and 12 rebounds in the loss for New Orleans and the Pelicans had three starters in double-digits. It wouldn’t be enough, however, to hang with this talented offense which shot 48.4 percent from the field.

Player To Watch

Kevin Durant -- New Orleans’ game-plan has been to stick close to shooters Klay Thompson and Steph Curry while allowing Durant to get his shots against 1-on-1 defense. Durant made that tactic pay in Game 4 by dominating from start to finish.

The Pelicans have some good defenders but none who can adequately slow down Durant. If New Orleans sticks with the same game plan, Durant could be in for another big game, which is something to remember when it comes to the individual scoring proposition bet for Durant.

Free NBA ATS Picks

The Warriors are the vastly superior team and will head home with a killer instinct in tow. If Davis can dominate down low maybe New Orleans can stick around, but Golden State will likely focus on stopping him and making others beat them.

The Warriors’ offense is clicking on all cylinders and the team is going to win this game and move on to the third round in resounding fashion. Look for Golden State to dominate through three quarters and cruise to the victory. Take the Warriors to cover this spread even though it is a big one in NBA basketball gambling.

NBA ATS Pick: Warriors 119, Pelicans 104
