NBA Odds - No. 7 Milwaukee vs. No. 2 Boston Game 7 Preview

milwaukee-bucks-bm-4-27

The hotly-contested first round series between the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics deserved to go to a Game 7, and it has. Milwaukee defended its home court last time out to force an elimination game for both sides next time out.

This series has been a lot of fun from start to finish, with each team defending their home court every time out. The Celtics would love for that trend to play out the whole way while the Bucks need to buck it in order to move on.

Boston is a slight favorite to win this game and move on to the Eastern Conference Semifinals, mostly because of the home court advantage. While the Bucks will need to overcome that, it can be done as Milwaukee looked good on Thursday and should feel confident about its chances. This game figures to be a classic with everything on the line in NBA basketball gambling.

Game 7 of this NBA Playoff Series is on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 8 p.m. ET at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The contest will be nationally televised on TNT.

Odds Analysis

The Celtics are listed as 4.5-point favorites to win Game 7 and advance to the second round of the playoffs. Boston is getting about half of the action to cover early on so the betting public seems to be in tune with the oddsmakers on this spread.

The scoring total is listed at 195 points, with the “under” the more popular choice. This has been a defensive-minded series and the gamblers believe Game 7 will be low-scoring.

The Celtics are -200 favorites on the moneyline while Milwaukee is the +170 underdog. Boston is getting slightly more run at those prices to win the game outright.

Last Time Out

Milwaukee used a big third quarter to run out to a lead and went on to the 97-86 win in Game 6. Giannis Antetokounmpo has his typically stellar outing, finishing with 31 points, 14 rebounds and a pair of steals. Jabari Parker had nine points and 11 rebounds and he has been a key piece off the bench for Milwaukee in this series.

The Bucks shot 50 percent from the field and held the Celtics to only 37 percent from the floor. Jayson Tatum did what he could for Boston, scoring 22 points, but he didn’t get enough help. Each team turned the ball over just nine times apiece, so the shooting discrepancy was the difference.

Injury Report

Celtics forward Marcus Morris was kneed in the thigh during the second half of Game 6 but downplayed the injury, saying he is fine. He joked that even if he wasn’t, “you’d have to cut my leg off for me not to play” in Game 7 because of its ramifications.

Morris is averaging 13.8 points and 5.8 rebounds off the bench for the Celtics in this series. Boston sometimes runs low on scorers, and Morris is skilled at putting the ball in the hoop.

Boston is glad the issue wasn’t serious, as it has been ravaged by injuries this year. The Celtics’ two best players, point guard Kyrie Irving and small forward Gordon Hayward, are out for the year and guard Marcus Smart just recently returned after missing several weeks with a thumb injury. Boston needs all hands on deck in such an important game.

Free NBA ATS Picks

The Celtics are the favorites but the feeling here is that the Bucks will pull off the upset. Milwaukee is the easy choice to cover, but also consider it on the moneyline, which would pay off nicely. The Celtics can have trouble on offense at times, and that could spell doom in this Game 7 showdown in NBA basketball betting.

NBA ATS Pick: Bucks 99, Celtics 95
